Prednisilone and PET scan
Following 6 mths of on again off again multiple health issues including digestive and bowel infections, OA and PMR flares. I have seen both a Gastroenterologist and a Rheumatologist had numerous investigations to find a cause why now that my symptoms have settled my ESR is still out of normal range

13 YO with nocturnal enuresis
My 13 year old son has nocturnal enuresis. He's never had a dry night in his life despite using various medications and alarms. A couple months ago he started sleeping through solid bowel movements after he had some sort of virus. His mental health and friendships are affected because he is embarrassed

Heart in constant a fibrillation, help advice
My husband had cardiac arrest on 3/5. After cpr and being shocked 2x his heart began again. He had a catheterization done in the hospital and a defibrillator put in the next day. He has no heart blockages. They cannot find what or location creating his continued a fib. So ablation is not an option

How do you make toilet time a positive experience again?
I've seen in a couple of posts that people have been using some good ideas to encourage your child to use the toilet without the battle. My 6yo who has struggled with UTIs, incontinence and soiling since 2, is under urology with an overactive bladder, bit is now back in pull ups after a rough patch on

TURP anyone?
Hi everyone, I have been a member of this forum for several years and learned more here than I ever did from doctors. A brief history: DX 1/2016. ADT ( Decapeptyl) but PSA started rising 2019 but scans showed only 1 bone met. PSA 25 then Zytiga + pred 4/2020, over 3 months PSA down to 14 and it has

Homeopathy For cancer
I just wonder if any of you have ever heard about Homeopathy and if it can help to control or even stop metastatic cancer ? Im not saying my dad should stop the conventional treatments and go for alternative, I’m thinking if he can get help from both.

Test message from GP
Just had this text message from my Gp this morning. I had an appointment with him on Monday to discuss my recent bloods, with the hope of another increase in Levo to just tweak my levels. He seems really nice, I’ve never seen him personally as he’s quite new to the surgery but what annoyed me was the

Mixed news
G'Day all Just got home from Adelaide after seeing my M.O. & R.O. My PSA is still low at 0.67, and my PET scan showed that ALL previously visible Mets have disappeared. (Does not mean they are completely gone, just too small to show up on the scan). Only visible cancer is on the right lobe of the Prostate

greeting from nowhere
I live in just about the middle of nowhere, slight to the North. Going to town for a simple test takes half the day and I have gotten so far behind in work that I just can't keep doing this. I recently had what I thought was a urinary tract infection based on pain and additional difficulty urinating

Gall Bladder Removal
Following an Ultrasound scan, it was identified that I have gallstones. I saw a surgeon yesterday who wants to take out the gall bladder. My pain is manageable at this stage and he has classed me as medium priority. My question is a simple one. Does anybody regret having the gall bladder taken out and

Still waiting for lap! Umbilical bleeding!
I am still yet to be seen for my larcascopy to determine whether I have umbilical endrimitriotious, it’s been over a year now and I’m still just being left in the dark! Had my scan back in March and haven’t even heard from my gynaecologist still. Has anyone managed to get there operation via NHS? Also

Radiotherapy - are there any disadvantages?
So, 7 months on enzalutamide has passed quickly and I get a phone call out of the blue from the Royal Marsden. "We want you to start targeted radiotherapy on your prostate. Please come in for us to arrange this." My PSA currently hovers around 0.18. I begun at 10.8 ("but it should have been much higher

You Have to Mourn the Loss - Dr. Ann Katz, PhD, RN, FAAN: ASCO Connection
As most who read posts on PCa forums know, the issues that are discussed in this heartfelt article are ones we have either experienced personally, know someone who has, or read of those on our forums who have. The second link is to Dr. Katz's ASCO Connection blog where she has many posts that address

Dandelion root tea
Hi everyone. My husband is waiting on the list for the gift of a new liver. He is now unable to take his diuretics and has become resistant to them and has to have a drain every 8/10 days. Is dandelion root tea safe to take? it was suggested as a natural diuretic. Trying anything to make him a little

Steroids with general anaesthetic
Do I need to double the dose of my steroids (currently 11.5) on the day of hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic and also on the day afterwards? Preop assessment didn't mention it have just been reading around and feel really nervous now. Especially as I've been taking steroids for 21 years.

Getting ready for clinical trial
I agreed to take part in a clinical trial (S1802) a couple weeks ago, and with that came another round of scans, more blood draws, a chat with a urologist, and a chat with a radiation oncologist. My bone scan had a lot fewer dark spots this time around, and the report said 'mets are less conspicuous'

MRI finds 10mm lesion left posterior PZ mid gland PIRADS 4 (High suspicion for prostate malignancy). No evidence extraprostatic extension.
A biopsy in 2007 found a single trace of prostate cancer which disappeared with a change in diet plus supplements. I now have a prostate double normal size and a PSA of 16. Age 73. Can anyone interpret the above for me? Could this genuinely be prostate cancer or simply related to enlarged prostate?

Pain in my right side between above the hip bone and below ribs
Hi I keep getting pain in my right side it’s above my hip bone and below the ribs , sometimes it feels like it’s burning ache , sometimes just a pain. Could this be gall stones? Or gall bladder pain? Sometimes feels like it’s going round my back too, I’ve had blood tests all come back normal. Any help
