Survival after Radical Prostatectomy versus Radiation Therapy in High-Risk and Very High-Risk Prostate Cancer
I figured that if I didn't post this new study [1], it might get lost. What with the prevalent bias towards radiation hereabouts. Soundbite: ""

RT/RP vs RT/ADT OCSS (overall cancer-specific survival)
What am I missing? Looks like RP with RT OCSS is a fraction of OS (overall survival). I have looked at multiple studies and they all seem to show the same type of thing. a.10-year survival after RT/ADT or RT/RP (comparing overall mortality (PCa, cardiac, etc) to PCa mortality for RT/ADT vs. RT/RP) "The

Desmopressin stopped working
Hi there, this is my first time posting, and I'm hoping others in similar situations can share advice. My 11 year old son still wets the bed. He's been using desmopressin and an alarm since October. Initially things got better (waking up sooner when the alarm sounded, and fewer wet nights) to the point

Going Private??
Hello all, I have just been diagnosed with Endometriosis from a transvaginal scan. I also have PCOS, Interstitial Cystitis and Vulvodynia. My endometrial cyst has continued to grow (had it for a year now). The gynae said it wouldn't go away by itself and I would need an operation and the waiting list

For those of you who had radiation, how did you manage nausea if you had it?
My brother is in his 4th week of radiation and since day 2 has been extremely nauseous all of the time, he had the beads implanted in his prostate and is doing IMRT for 9 weeks, he is on promethazine but it doesnt really seem to be working well. He didn't qualify for prostatectomy because it had spread

Withholding help!
We are on our 5th day of maximum laxido sachets for dissimpaction for my 3 year old and she is still withholding constantly. So far, she will only poo when fast asleep and unaware. I keep trying to explain to the gp that maybe if she poos whilst awake, I can help reassure her it doesn't hurt and break

My 5 (almost 6) year old daughter has a serious overactive bladder. She’s been on tolterdoine for a year and drinks loads of water, wears vibration watch etc, but her problems are worse than ever. She never tells us when she is wet and will come back from school soaked through (and smelly) and seems

PSA and having a prostate gland.
If your PSA is <0.04 and you have a prostate gland with no aggressive treatment, how do those numbers compare to not having a prostate gland?
