Trying to come off Bisoprolol and hearing long term side effects Inc vascular dementia
Hi all, I am now over a year post ablation and attempting to wean off all drugs. Yet hearing that bisoprolol is an anticholinergic which can be a risk for vascular dementia. I have a family history of dementia and have felt some short term memory issues.. Has anyone else been aware of this ? I

5 beats
Diagnosed with afib and on blood thinners and Bisoprolol. I am lucky to get 5 normal heart beats in a row and then a pause of 1 beat, sometimes only 3 and then sometimes 10 or more before a pause. My heart rate before treatment was around 60 at rest increasing with exercise. Now in the low 40`s.

Glucosamine and chondroitin
So following my HA on 27th February I have been upping my exercise in line with rehab advice .I am walking 40 minutes most days and occasionally cycling . I have noticed a few more aches and pains (non cardiac) . I was diagnosed over 20 years ago with mild arthritis in my neck and almost certain these

Cancelled Again
Well here I go again, another cancellation, another wait. I have continual AF for just coming up to two years. I’m on 10mg of Bisoprolol and 62.5 digoxin, plus Apixaban. First appointment with Cardio, told to lose weight and get on with it, no medication, oh ok. Went to GP who gave medication and

Now bradycardic on Bisoprolol
I was reviewed by my cardiologist a couple of weeks ago and we are classifying my AF as permanent. Therefore he has stopped amiodarone and started bisprolol. My resting heart rate used to be in the 70s now it’s in the 40s. I don’t feel my usual self - I am more anxious and stressed. Do you think

should I believe it? And if so, should I be worried?
this morning my Fitbit tells me my pulse went up to 112 at midnight last night - I was fast asleep!!! Should I believe it? And should I be worried? I take bisoprolol and ramipril at night …. I get palpitations during the day sometimes but completely random. Jane (enjoying the sun)!

Short episode five months after ablation.
Do hope everyone is having a good day and has been able to enjoy this beautiful weather. I have PAF and had my first ablation 5 months ago. All was fine through recovery, some discomfort, some ectopics and loads of tiredness. Two and a half weeks ago the report was good in my post ablation consultation

post ablation 12 weeks
Hello everyone So many were reassuring and kind after my first week to ten days of hell after my ablation that I wanted to give you a follow up at now 12 weeks. History reminder I was previously Paf with no beta blockers just apixiban. Episodes were light burden every 6 weeks or so during the night

Annoyingly high heart rate
Hi everyone. This is my first post. I am 9 weeks post Aortic Valve replacement. Late 40’s so I was installed with a mechanical valve. This forum has proved really useful with a load of issues I have experienced post op but one thing that is bothering me is my persistently high HR. This last week,

What to do?
Hi All, I lost a load of weight last year doing a keto diet. Subsequently I didn't have AFib for 18 months. I have Paroxysmal AFib and usually only have 1 AFib a year. I always cardiovert with Flecanide. My Chadvac is 0. However, this year I've put more weight on and blood pressure has risen and I've

I’ve had enough
So prior to my last post, I thought I’d share my decision to get a private MRI done. The chest heaviness has turned into severe chest pain and I can’t even make it to the doctors even if I wanted to. I’ve showered twice this week and brushed my teeth 5 times. I need to find out what’s happening

Flecainide stopped working
I have been on Flecainide for years & my AF well controlled. Now it has started to cause other arrhythmias so I have to stop it This happened a few years ago & as soon as it was stopped my AF occurred regularly & made me feel very unwell I was able then to restart it but this time it’s not possible

Flecainide and other meds
Got my prescription for Flecainide today and am trying to work out when to take it! Am on sertraline (apparently there can be an interaction so that could be fun!) thyroid meds and bisoprolol. Am a little nervous about a new med but am hoping it will help. Does anybody else take other meds alongside

New to afib
Just been prescribed Bisoprolol for afib. my recent ecg indicated this along with 110bpm, but my heart rate is usually around 55-60 at rest. I put this down to nerves whilst in hospital. I have now had 3 days on the beta blocker and it has slowed my heart rate to low 40`s, but eratic heart beat persists

Should I be concerned about lower resting HR on bisoprolol?
I had my first recorded (though probably 3rd in 3 years) AF incident on Sunday and have got 1.25mg of bisoprolol and 5 mg x 2 pd of apixaban. I am a runner so my resting overnight HR is usually low, say mid 40s. My heart returned to its normal rhythm on Sunday night after about 19 hours in AF. So now

REPOST: chest heaviness won't leave
Hi, I had a long trip this Feb. After coming back, I had a bit of chest heaviness. It's not left but instead slowly getting worse. I've been calling cardiology, my GP, the BHF nurses, went to A&E and have had very little help. Honestly, right now, I don't care about figuring out what it is, I just
