Hi All, I lost a load of weight last year doing a keto diet. Subsequently I didn't have AFib for 18 months. I have Paroxysmal AFib and usually only have 1 AFib a year. I always cardiovert with Flecanide. My Chadvac is 0. However, this year I've put more weight on and blood pressure has risen and I've developed PACs. I've doubled up on Bisoprolol to 1.25 twice daily. Seeing the Cardiologist next week. Any advice on how to get rid of PACs or is this the road to more AFib and then an ablation?

I think youalready know the asnwer. Weight loss is vital but as you have discovered, diets don't work. Life style does.
While you are sorting that out the ectopics can usally be stopped with the slow deep diaphragmic breathing trick. Use your stomach not your shoulders, pull down slowly to breath in and push up trying to make your stomach reach your spine to breath out. Slow to no more tham six breaths a minute for AT LEAST five minutes.
Hi Bob. Well the work but you fall of the wagon so to speak. I stopped booze 7 yeas ago, stopped sugar, fruit, coffee, tea, chocolate 10 years ago. So my only go to is carbs. I'll try the diaphragmatic breathing, thanks.
life style changes require a daily strict discipline to avoid a yo yo diet. In a nutshell low carbs and low all sodium diet. Mental discipline is the key. If somebody finds a way to lose weight and keep it without a mental daily strict discipline would be a billionaire already. In the States all the diabetics drugs which make people lose 50 lbs are extremely in vogue but as soon as they stop it they regain weight. Here is a typical scenario for big pharma. They found the unicorn drug which makes them richer by hundreds of billions. And people with real diabetes could not get their hands on the drugs because of short supply.
Get rid of the weight again. Then get off the bisoprolol. Then get off this forum 😀 and get on with your life. Sounds like you're doing great!

Lifestyle changes will improve the gut and your mental health; no crash diets just steady change one by one. Less chronic issues including AF.

look up drwilliamli.com. He is researching the science of food and how it affects health. He is also a part of work being done on how food eliminates cancer and how the gut biome plays a critical part. There is a long video on YouTube where a UK doctor does an interview. If you can find this , it might be helpful. He also wrote a book about food called “Eat to Beat Your Diet. “
I think you have answered your own question there - weight loss.
