Did you have an ECG & Eco heart scan. You mention your family has heart history, do you know if its HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy)?

Hi C13w please please speak to someone regarding taking yourself off these meds

I’m no expert but surely you have been prescribed these meds to help you, I too am on bisoprolol along with other meds and I understand the tiredness as by early evening I normally want to go to bed,

Take care and speak with your doctor.

I take Bisoprolol along with a suitcase load of other meds for Afib, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and MVD. I found the Bisoprolol made me very tired and was advised by the cardiac nurse to take it in the evening rather than morning. The tiredness is much improved. I have found that dr opinions on what is an acceptable level for blood pressure varies hugely from one dr to another.

one of the most common side effects of bisiprolol (and other beta-blockers) is tiredeness, as Wanderinglady suggests, they can be taken in the evening to resolve this --

but another side effect is that they can affect your blood sugar levels

you should inform your GP that you have stopped taking this and arrange an appointment to discuss other possibilities - it would be helpful for you if you knew more about the condition they have been prescribed for so that you can find out more about what else you can be doing to help yourself - medication alone is not always the only solution

Yes this is half the problem speaking to the same dr each time is impossible. But I now have a copy of the letter sent from hospital and I am arranging appointment to discuss everything and my son is coming with to try and get it all sorted thank you

I couldn't tolerate 1.25mg of Bisoprolol either, nor indeed half that dose when I cut the tablets in half (on medical advice). It made me feel ghastly. I'm now on Amlodipine and Ramipril and feel fine. Ask your doctor to switch you to something else.

I was on 2.5mg for 4 months and recently my cardiologist said I can can stop using them. I’m still tired but nowhere near having the chronic fatigue whilst I was on them.

Get some advice first though from the professionals before you stopping taking an meds.

Hope it all works out for you.

All the best.
