Shift from paroxysmal AFib to permanent! How can I tell if this has happened?
Hi all, I have been in AFib since 4pm on Saturday. Back then it started with my usual, very symptomatic AFib, tachycardia etc which lasted for about 5 hours....took 2.5 bisoprolol as pill in pocket when it first started. Since then, I have been in constant afib which is not as symptomatic. However,

Breast Cancer in Men
I'm an 85year old male with Heart Disease Afib and now Brest Cancer. At the moment I'm on Tamoxifen to shrink the lump it appears to be working, be on it about 7 Months. There was some concern about surgery because of my age and low heart rate but that's been cleared by the Cardiologist who says just

nausea and lightheaded
hi everyone I had a Nstemi in January 2024 and stent and ballon’s fitted , I had previously had a stent fitted in Sept 2022 following a private CY angiogram which showed my LAD was 85% blocked, I had to pay privately as my gp and staff at local hospital told me I was suffering from anxiety as nothing

Lorazepam experiences for one-off use
hi Just wondering if anybody has experience of taking a small dose of lorazepam before a surgical procedure done under a local anaesthetic. I am having a MOHs procedure for skin cancer (bcc) on my nose in two weeks and quite frankly I am terrified. the procedure involves taking layers and examining

Heart rate dropped.
My Samsung smart watch has picked up that my heart rate has dropped into 30s about 4 times in the last 3 months, I haven't felt any diff while these events have happened and I don't think they last for more than a few seconds, but its still very worrying to me as I'm new to all this, been on bisoprolol

Hi everyone, I found this forum whilst attempting to research the betablocker drug called Bisoprolol,
I experienced slight breathlessness upon taking "Bisoprolol" for the first time, I stopped taking this as I felt uncomfortable with that side effect and I am waiting to speak to my doctor, I see on this forum that its not an unheard of reaction.

What dosage are Carvedilol users on?
Afternoon, I've switched off bisoprolol onto Carvedilol and am still getting some episodes of Afib/ flutter with a high heart rate during exercise. I started on 3.25mg Carvedilol twice daily, now on 6.5mg twice daily, the next logical step is to jump to 12.5 mg twice daily. Just trying to see what

Statins
I have AF but it’s controlled so far with daily flecainide and bisoprolol. I get a three monthly blood test for iron overload but this week the doctor advised me to get a cholesterol blood test as well. All of my results for cholesterol were within the ranges but my doc advised that it’s recommended

Spaced out, light headed
I've been taking the bisoprolol (2.5mg), ramipril(2.5mg), statin, prasugrel etc for around 15 weeks. There have been moments when I feel a bit off, spaced out, queezy . Its not all the time but it happens and I feel like i need to sit down and regain my thoughts, composure, then after around 5-10 mins

Stopping PPI?
Hello everyone, I'm approaching a year post Nstemi with one stent and thus the end of ticagrelor hourray! What I am wondering is if I am then down to aspirin as the only blood thinner (plus ezetimibe and atorvastatin long term but hopefully not much longer on bisoprolol and ramipril ) do I still need

Bisoprolol to fix ectopic beats?
Hi everyone, I’m new here and have found reading lots of your posts really interesting. Thankful to have found this community. I have been having irregular beats for a year plus, although I’m convinced it’s been happening for years and has just got worse in the last year. I finally presented at A&E

Why put on betablockers before 2 week monitor fitting?
HiAs the last post I am concerned re my body's reaction to the first dose of Bisoprolol 2.5mgs as my HR has dropped to 44 bpm. ( thank you to those who replied). But my next question is why would the consultant tell me to start the betablockers when the 2 week monitor has not been fitted yet? In fact

Commenced Bisoprolol
Hi I suffer from Paroxysmal AF. I have been taking Rivaroxaban for 2 months. I saw the cardiologist and he has started me on 2.5mg Bisoprolol daily. I took my first dose at 10am and by 2.30pm my Heart Rate had dropped to 50 bpm. My question is to others who take Bisoprolol for rhythm control and who
