I've been taking the bisoprolol (2.5mg), ramipril(2.5mg), statin, prasugrel etc for around 15 weeks.
There have been moments when I feel a bit off, spaced out, queezy . Its not all the time but it happens and I feel like i need to sit down and regain my thoughts, composure, then after around 5-10 mins I'm fine.
There are no other symptoms.
Today whilst this was happening I put the o2/ heart rate device on my finger and my heart rate was at 48bpm but my 02 levels were at 98%.
After a minute I tried again and my heart rate was 65 , O2 99%.
So I put the first heart rate reading as being a duff reading.
I'm relaxing in bed now and my heart rate is 58 and O2 98%.
Even though I've taken these medicines for a while with no major side effects, are the odd bouts of feeling a bit odd the norm with this cocktail or should I start to monitor things a lot more.
Baly, I’ve just posted on Cruisers thread about my thoughts on Bisoprolol/ramipril. My BP drops from morning to afternoon, I run out of steam , crash. I hate it. Gone from running 5k three times a week and yoga classes to being a tree 🤦🏼.
I’ve recorded 5 days BP readings to give my GP. I start off fine at 115/75 then by 14:00 I can go down to 101/63.. that’s me me wiped out ..😴😴😴💤💤💤
I'm going to do the same as it seems to happen late afternoon, whether it's natural tiredness or the meds, not sure.
Will start doing morning/afternoon blood pressure, heart rate, 02 readings for doctor.
Whilst I don't want to mess around with medication at a relatively early stage which are reducing my chances of another heart attack, I'm hoping with data and a conversation with GP we can find ways of managing it.
I take mine in the morning as told.
I'm keeping a close eye on your posts, you're a lot fitter then me ( so I can't use that as my reason for my symptoms) but anything we learn is valuable.
It’s certainly a journey Baly. My consultant/surgeon said I’d be feeling brand new and I wouldn’t believe the difference after 6 months. I wish that was the case. I can count on one hand the days I’ve said to my wife “ I feel fantastic!” I’m sure that I’m doing really well , I just don’t feel it . It’s starting to get me down . I felt fab when I stopped the statin . Like you , I want to stick to taking the meds that will help prevent things further down the line. I’m sure we’ll both get there 👍🏻
We will dude, we have been through worse and this is the next chapter but I agree, there are days when I feel absolutely on top of the world, then I have days when I feel odd and think I'm fed up with this. But as my wise wife reminds me, I'd rather have you moaning and having off days then the alternative, that puts things into perspective.
Stay strong 🤜🤛 because you are doing bloody well. You're my this is what can be done post heart event role model ( no cringe intended)
Thanks Baly, t my Mrs said similar earlier in the week, she knows I’m not fab at the moment. If I didn’t trsin she used to say it gave me IBS … Irritable B@st@rd Syndrome 🤦🏼🤣🤣🤣
I was on biso and rami but felt very sluggish, especially in mornings. Cardiologist took me off biso and doubled the ramipril to 250mg, this was a year after my stent fitting. I felt better but I understand the ramipril opens out your blood vessels slightly so makes it easier for your heart to pump but can lower blood pressure, which might make you feel light headed at times. I’m at the two year mark and feel pretty well back to normal although I’ve been feeling faint during exercise on occasions. I’ve just been to see cardiologist privately and although he thinks all is ok I’m having a scan just to check the heart is pumping correctly. It did take me a year to feel completely ok and I was pretty fit before having the stent fitted. If you don’t feel right though keep asking for professional help, ideally a cardiologist as GPs aren’t specialists. A tweak in medication might help but again I’d check with a specialist maybe? Good luck.
Hi Baly_2023, my pulse was down at 49 there abouts so gp halved the Bisoprolol to 1.25mg, my pulse went up to 61. Not noticing much more than that really apart from the Atorvastatin caused severe muscle cramps and spasms especially in calf (of leg leg) and feet. Consultant didn't want to touch the tablet but got too much so gp said stop for two weeks and if spasms go we'll know it has indeed caused it and will go on an alternative Statin. Almost a week later much better. I was also given Ranolazine just prior to Atorvastatin stopping. So I'm not sure if the pains in chest back and arms were caused by the Atorvastatin or if the Ranolazine are easing that, but those weird pains are gone too. I'm awaiting perfusion scan. Blood pressure remains low with me sometimes too low. I still get light headed and sometimes really dizzy.
