rising psa but scans are clear
Now it has risen over the years to 10.8 but all scans, PET, CT, and
biopsy
of prostate are totally clear. My urologist want to put me on Elegard (hormone therapy) that will make my quality of life terrible which he admits.

Not sure if I have IgA Nephropathy. Will it damage my new kidney?
But my kidney function was so far gone (GFR 15) that they didn't bother to
biopsy
it because it wasn't going to change the fact that I needed a kidney. Their focus was on controlling my blood pressure. I was fortunate to receive a living donor kidney, and have been fine ever since.

Stage 4 Cirrhosis can be compensated?
My husband was diagnosed with Cirrhosis via liver
biopsy
. He is 65 years old. The liver specialist says the
biopsy
indicates Stage 4 cirrhosis. His fibrosis was also stage 4. But liver specialist also says his liver is compensated? How can this be?

Tests at Coventry (NK testing, ERA, Trio etc.)
Hello all, I have two untested blastocysts frozen, which are my last shot with my own eggs as having turned 44, I struggle to make them now. I've been recommended to have tests before transfer as over 6 fresh cycles and transfers I've had no evidence of implantation at all. It's likely to be due to my

Looking for support - glioblastoma
A 2nd opinion initially ruled it as inoperable after a
biopsy
. Then they did some tests to determine viability of an "awake" surgical resection. But that all fell apart at the end and she really doesn't want to endure radiation / chemo (treatment worse than the disease).

Adding TurkeyTail (or other Mushrooms) to my current treatment
Biopsy
in 9/22 showed Gleason 4+5=9 and classified as stage 4. Bone scan and Cat showed small metastices in spine, hip, lung, & shoulder. Other than urinary incontinence, no other symptoms. Quickly started Lupron and added Abiraterone by December.

PREDNISONE TAPERING WITH ACTEMRA
A positive temporal
biopsy
was found this time. So I went up to 60 mg prednisone. Now I’m at 10 mg prednisone and am just starting Actemra. My question is how fast can I taper prednisone with Actemra? PS: I feel like the PMR never came back though. I had no PMR symptoms this time around.

Update
The results of my husbands’s bone marrow
biopsy
shows that the prostate cancer is widespread in his bone marrow and are causing him to have low blood cell levels. He was told he could to chemo with a low level dose of Taxo or go to hospice. I am sharing so people have info on end of life choices.

New Study Result Being Dangerously Oversimplified
Do a study of patients diagnosed via
biopsy
with Prostate Cancer in their 50's with even Gleason 6 and follow them for 25 years instead of 15, or limit the study to Stage 2 but Gleason 8 and up and follow them for 15 years, and let me know how that turns out.

gastritis diagnosis
Recently had an Endoscopy after 3 years of feeling sick! Revealed inflammation of the stomach lining. I did have h-pylori which was discovered last year and then after 3 rounds of antibiotics was clear (about 6 months ago). They took biopsies at the Endoscopy to find out if it’s bacteria causing it.

My bone marrow
biopsy
showed fibrosis but not a lot, he said that could have been caused by the Anagrelide. Anyway he had more blood taken which will be sent for Next Generation Sequencing so he can get a definitive answer, this could take up to 12 weeks.

Researchers prove that Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) can enter the brain.
These extracellular vesicles can provide cutting-edge blood-based biomarkers for brain disorders and serve as a "liquid
biopsy
" of neurons, giving researchers a rare look at what's inside them.
