The Drug Blame Game
Now I have been a forum member for a few months I have to admit there are two types of post that bemuse me! The first is "I have symptom X, could it be drug Y I was recently perscribed?" Statins and the beta blocker Bisoprolol are the most frequent, where people seem to expect (even want) side effects

Sudden fatigue and aches
On Monday I felt fine by Monday night I was not sleeping and had severe fatigue and muscle aches. Was starting to worry I had some some of silent event! As I had a similar fatigue issue prior to my heart attack. ( I suspect this was a small attack) Then the stomach cramps and diarrhoea kicked in. As

Statins for 65 yr old asthmatic woman
Hi, has anyone had any experience with Lipitor statins ? My GP decided to prescribe them for me. I tried to explain that I wasn't 100% on this as I have had bad reactions to various drugs, vaccines in the past. I also pointed out that a) I suffered from white coat syndrome and b) I had been under a fair

Blood pressure update as promised
Sorry for the late reply a few weeks ago I went to a blood pressure meeting I promised an update on a earlier post .so this is it .I completely misunderstood what it was about .I thought I'd have another bp check then a private consultation with the nurse but what happened was we all sat around the table

Anti-cholesterol jab twice a year could herald the end of statins amid hopes treatment will get NHS approval within 18 months
Taking statins every day to control cholesterol could soon become a thing of the past and be replaced instead by twice-yearly jabs. Spectacular results from trials of an injectable drug called inclisiran show that it can slash 'bad' LDL cholesterol levels by more than 50 per cent after just two weeks

W2R3 struggle for us both tonight
Hubby struggling with calf pain , he thinks it's a side effect of statins, anyone else relate to that ?? He doesn't think he can run longer next week , as had to walk during one of the runs ... He's a builder so is active at work But hasn't done regular exercise before We chose a different route

Valerian Tablets with Heart Medication
Hi everyone, does anyone take valerian tablets to help with anxiety and sleeping? I've been researching it and I can't find anything that says it isn't safe with statins, bisoprolol, ramipril etc but I wondered if any of you had any knowledge/experience of it? Thank you :)

Alternative treatments for Busulfan
My wife was diagnosed with E.T. five and half years ago, she is 78 and lives in the UK. At the time, the main treatments were Hydroxycarbamide, followed by Anagrelide and Busulfan as a last resort. She was first treated with Hydrox but the side effects were severe and she was then treated with Anagrelide

Statins Do Not Cause Cognitive Decline
Negativity about statins seems to continue with a number of internet doctors(?) and their followers. Some good news though. New research shows that they cause neither cognitive decline or memory loss. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S073510971937799X?via=ihub

Looking for research on heart and suppressed TSH
I had a very stressful and combative cardiology appointment yesterday. A 24hr ECG back in May showed I’m having a load of ventricular ectopic beats (over 20,000 in a 24 hour period). Palpitations was one of the many hypothyroid symptoms I’d been having, I was feeling heart flutterings when sitting

Heart attack last week and feeling scared.
Hi all I haven't written a post in a while but have been reading all posts. I wrote a few months ago saying my cholesterol was 19.4 and docs were adamant that I needed statins which I refused to take. My levo was increased to 200mcgs and I started to feel much better. I tried to tell my doc that once

Microvascular Angina
Hello. I was diagnosed with MVA last May by a sympathetic cardiologist but in reality had it since 2007. I’m on a cocktail of ramipril, digitalizm, long lasting nitrates and statins. Lately my symptoms seem to have got worse, to the point that I’m frightened to go out the house in case I pass out. My
