I believe this has happened to my husband. VA gave him a vary large dose of statins then one day they sent him a letter to cease and desist the medication with no replacement.

It has been 15 years, but I was put on a high dose of Vytorin, a statin combination, for what turned out to be a lab reading mistake. . After 3 weeks on it, I was very ill and diagnosed with a hepatitis like drug reactions induced by the statin. Liver biopsy at that time showed liver damage. My liver enzymes stayed abnormal “due to that reaction”. Fast forward 12 years to 2017. Started having symptoms, nausea, rash, etc. Had another liver biopsy done which showed cirrhosis. Not on transplant list yet. I will never take statins again!

I have a reader whose liver went to end stage after she survived the meds from breast cancer. She spent 2 years with a clean diet and lifestyle and her liver disease reversed dramatically.
