Hubby struggling with calf pain , he thinks it's a side effect of statins, anyone else relate to that ?? He doesn't think he can run longer next week , as had to walk during one of the runs ... He's a builder so is active at work But hasn't done regular exercise before
We chose a different route which didn't help as it was up hill on the first run
So we were out of breath and struggling early on , we're really not going fast , I've watched the slow jogging videos, don't think we can go much slower ( hubbys walk was my jog)
We did stretch before we went out but only for about 5 mins , And stretched when got home but not for long as we were both shattered
and I felt quite nauseous ... but know haven't drunk Enough water today so could just be that
Not sure if we Should repeat all week 2 Or just this run on the same route as all the other runs
On the plus side he's lost 7 lb since we started π

Your husbands calf pain could be down to doing stretches before a run. Why don't the both of you try a fast brisk 5 minutes warm up walk on its own and see if it helps.
Try and keep up with the 2-3 litres of water per day every day it will really help. You don't have to do the full week again just r3. Good luck and well done to both of you π€
You are both doing brilliantly as you are keeping going. There is no right way to achieve Couch to 5K other than in keeping going. If you need to repeat a run or a week, then do it. There is no way you can go too slow. As long as you keep moving those feet, you are going forward. Check out slow running on Amazon by Chris Bore for further motivation. Itβs a free download. Good luck.
Hi ... not an expert, but I found getting running shoes really helped me with shin pains (as opposed to calf pain that your husband is getting) and consciously trying to make sure that I wasn't landing too heavy on my heels (heel strike). A good running shop will let you try them out on a treadmill ... don't be daunted by that or by saying what your budget is. As for statins, I think any pain related to them is generally something you would suffer regardless of running. I would check with your GP - I would hope a phone appointment would suffice. Take it easy on yourselves, you are getting up and going and that is the important bit rather than speed or distance ... fitness should come gradually with practice
