Worried about Dad
Hello everyone, I am new to the group and need a bit of advice. My Dad is now 74 and takes statins due to a mild heart attack last year and had a stent put in. He asked me was there any vitamins he could take as his memory is starting to fail him. His older brother is also in a care home from last year

What do statins do?
I have read that statins lower cholesterol, but my chelosterol levels have never been high even before my HA 7 months ago, now it is dangerously low. I have heard that statins also reduce plaque, whilst presenving the all important hard cap, preventing a rupture and subsequent blood clot. Is this all

Statins - again 😀
Hi all. Recent test showed my LDL at 1.51. Cardiologist says it should be lower than 1.4. I guess that’s the level for those with established AHD? I’ve been taking 40mg of Atorvastatin for 7 months now. No HA but 2 stents after 80% blocked LAD. Heart now has almost normal blood flow according to the

Update on statins for me
Well I’ve tried yet another statin and still have bad side effects. Saw GP today who has referred me to a Lipid Group for advice on other statins and other ways to prevent another heart attack. I’ve been referred to an endocrinologist because of my high parathyroid hormone levels and my GP has asked

Any advice for Candida Overgrowth and Die-Off? TMJ Problems too! Any help greatly appreciated!
So I feel like I have had Candida for a long time. I was diagnosed with Graves back in February of this year. During that time I was sick and also had this nail fungus that would not grow out. It is long gone now but I am worried. I have been on a string of antibiotics and even a steroid (Prednisone

Statins and Aspirin Curb Depression
STATINS, aspirin, antibiotics and fish oils have been shown to curb symptoms of major depression and significantly increase the effectiveness of common antidepressants. So two of the heart medications most of us take have beneficial side effects. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/17998822.depression-fish-oils-statins-antibiotics-shown-relieve-symptoms

Stopping Clopidogrel
During a follow up visit to see the "chronic disease nurse" following my annual blood test (which I had to request), I asked if the Clopidogrel would cease, as I had been led to believe. The Nurse looked at me blankly and said "why would you stop that?" and claimed not to be aware of it being ceased

New to this statins game
Just returned from GP, after My 3rd successive high cholesterol, it's been decided to start simvastatin. Am not that keen, but given my diet is good, I run half marathon and am 60 years of age, don't know what else I can do, so it's bad genes for me. Any positive tips or encouragement would be good.

Statins
Has anyone ever heard of liver damage from statins? I’ve had difficulties with 4 different statins for years (severe leg muscle/joint pain). Diagnosed with fibrosis without significant fatty liver 2 weeks ago but was told by an acquaintance that their fibrosis was caused by reactions to statins. I’m
