Thyroid and statins!
Thank you everyone for the amazing advice from so many contributors. It's given me a lot to think about especially getting blood tests and taking this forward with whatever results are.

Statin Prescribing - UK NICE & QOF Guidance
The Quality Outcomes Framework does sometimes appear to be payment for prescribing statins, or gets described as such, but the actual wording is somewhat more nuanced than that. And it specifically recognises that not everyone should be on statins including patient saying no: [i]

Last Thursday 15th August I suffered a Heart Attack at the age of 48. My family have a history of heart disease, I have been taking Statins & BP medication for the last 20+ years in the vain hope I could avoid or at the very least delay in the family genetic tradition. Anyways I survived thanks to the

I am on 60mg isorbide once a day 500mg Ranolazine twice a day, Statins,Clopidogrel, bisoprol and Losartin. The Angio showed two partial blocks on 45% and one 75 to 95% but normal flow

Statins and Paroxysmal afib stopped?
Anyone else experienced this? there is research showing statins reduce PAF burden.Used to have episode every 3-6 months, very upsetting! Also take iron, b12 and magnesium supplements. Afib free for a year now. Tempting fate of course....🫣.also enjoying a couple of pints now and then which is nice.

Statins and gluteal muscle pain
following a discussion here about statins and muscle pain I’ve had a gp appointment. She agrees the pain could be either PMR, spinal issues ( I had lumbar laminectomy 4 years ago) or Avarostatin which was doubled in dose in June. My chiropractor said my back seems fine and I’m on 2.75 prednisone and

PMR, Statins, something else - what is causing my muscle pain and weakness?

Statins
What statins do you currently take and what dosage? Do any of you take statins to prevent recurrence specifically? I would like to know if there's a recommended dosage for repurposed use for PCA recurrence.

statins and PMR
Anyone heard about or experienced an improvement in PMR symptoms following stopping of statin medication? One of my friends is convinced that stopping her Atorvastatin led to complete remission. I have done a google search and can’t find any conclusive research results.

High Calcium score AND CAD
Hi Friends I’m trying to figure something out but Dr Google isn’t helping much because it’s full of contradictions and my cardiologist isn’t really answering my questions in a way that makes any sense. Got a very high CAC score 944, and CAD in 5 arteries. Mild to moderate. No procedures at this point

Cholesterol Is GOOD For Your Arteries & Statins Are Harmful? Jimmy Dore Show
Warnings:
1- Jimmy swears at one point in this video. 2 - If you start watching Jimmy Dore you will get red pilled and you might stop fitting into society. Of particular interest, near the end, they talk about how Statins interfere with COQ10 and affect mitochondrial activity. Also lots of interesting

Total Agatston score vs CAC score
question I have had a PET scan recently and CTCA scan last year. Do both of these give the same type of CAC score? i have noticed that in PET scan it is labelled as Agatston score. Just a bit surprised why they are so different. The Agatston score is 35, while the CAC score with CTCA was 7? I am on

Hello, Thank you and does this sound familiar to anyone?
Hello, Thank you all for your posts and sharing so much useful information. I have been quietly reading, whilst I try to adjust and come to terms with my new situation. I had a STEMI in Nov 23 - a full blue light experience, with one stent being fitted. This was followed by a pressure test in January

Am I unwell or not?
Long story - breathlessness on exertion, various bloods (normal) and X-Rays (contentious) until sent for a CT scan for lung cancer after a year of pestering my GP. CT scan reveals lung scarring from dust(? was thought to be asbestos, but lung clinic say not) plus "narrowed arteries" GP ECG abnormal

Don't accept the first answer
I wrote here a few months ago after I'd had an MPI (Myocardial Perfusion Imaging) scan showing mild damage to the anterior wall of my heart. I was told I had angina and put on several medications. My main concern then and now has been about being able to do activities at normal levels for me ( running
