Palpitations
Hello , new here . Hubby had 3 stents filled around 8 years ago , 3 blockages. He’s recently been having disturbing bouts of unsettling palpitations, these come at random times at rest and while working. He’s on aspirin and 80mg statins . I’ve managed to get him a doctors appointment and was wondering

NICE and NHS Guidelines This is undoubtedly at some point going to be revised by NICE and the NHS, so if this post becomes out of date AND I haven't realised, please give me a BIG PROD and I will UPDATE - keep me on my toes 😁😘 Here are some very important links - They have latitude to treat symptoms

Stenosis (blocking!) of the LAD - will it now be monitored?
Morning everyone, happy Saturday. As you'll know from my previous posts, I was discovered to have a large hole in my heart at the end of last year. I've had a tonne of tests to assess it and I have now been referred for surgical closure (OHS) in London which should hopefully happen in the coming months

Hello everyone!

heart and asthma
I have chronic asthma. Over last year or so I’ve become increasingly breathless. my chest is heavy and tight and I struggle to breathe on any exertion. Even getting dressed and bathing is a big problem, on the last few months I’ve got chest pain if I don’t stop to reset when getting so breathless. I

Back on Besremi next week!
Hi Everybody, Finally had the visit with the liver specialist at Chapel Hill. Good news is I can start taking Besremi again. Bad news is I have fatty liver disease and it was more extensive and serious than we had expected. On a scale of 1-4 I rank the beginnings of a 3. 4 is cirrhosis of the liver

Do statins help with PAD pain?
I seem to be posting a lot lately, so thanks if you've taken the time to read and respond. Much appreciated. I've been experiencing what my GP calls intermittent claudication of the calf muscles, otherwise known as PAD. I have had high cholesterol since I was a young adult but have remained fit and

symptoms before a heart attack
hi everyone, I’m a 50 year old female with mild coronary artery disease and likely familial hypercholesterolaemia. I have a strong family history of early death from heart disease and my dad died at 57 having had several HA’s in his 30’s/40’s followed by a triple bypass at 44. Although he died very suddenly

Most used Statin
Hi everyone I’m considering going on a statin. Years ago I was on simvastatin but I was take off it by a cardiologist after he did my blood test, because in his words, it was affecting my bones. Recently my GP as been trying to get me to take it again but they’re not having any luck. I’m resisting.

Link twixt Levo dosage and cholesterol
Just read some of the interaction regarding this matter from 3 years ago. Found it very encouraging and strengthen my resolve to stand my ground. I do not want to take Statins and now feel there is hope. Encouraging - high cholesterol = longer life span Statins can lead to shorter life span. Hmm

Nexletol
Nexletol is a new cholesterol-lowering drug that has shown promise in reducing the risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems. It also appears to avoid the muscle pains experienced by some with statins. When I find out more I will let you know.

Podcast on heart, cholesterol, statins, diet, gut health, Vit D, micro biome 💕🌱
This came on randomly in the car this morning on the way into work. I found it very engaging and it gave me confidence I’m on the right track with my health. They reference auto immune and epidemic hypothyroidism. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-gut-health-gurus-podcast/id1433882512?i=1000600120659

Is Simvastatin more effective than the other statins, against PCa?
Patrick O'Shea and others interesting in the effects of statins on prostate cancer suppression, do you find anything about this study that reinforces the use of Simvastatin over other statins, or is it insignificant because it's not a study on men? I didn't try to translate the amount/dosage in this

Stopping Statins
hi guys after a year last year, of frightening chest pains and ? Heart attacks, going through umpteen tests and a stent procedure ( they didn’t put one in as my heart disease was not significant enough). I went from being on 5 daily meds for my heart to then being discharged completely with just taking

Low thyroid, high cholesterol
I'm interested in the effect an under active thyroid has on cholesterol levels. I have been taking Levothyroxine for 15 years and according to tests, my thyroid function is now within the normal range. A recent blood test shows my cholesterol levels as overall high (7). I have read that thyroid can affect
