Imuran related pain
Has anyone experienced pain just under ribs or achy hips, back, and legs while on Imuran. I recently upped dose from 50mg to 100 and have been getting weird pains like never before. I went off Imuran for a week and pain in my legs went away. Then back on again and now rib pain is unbearable after

Primary biliary cirrhosis
I was told I have Primary biliary cirrhosis in June 2015 and prescribed ursofalk 500 twice a day. I am struggling to take the full amount because of the side effects, ie nausea, bloating, etc. GP suggested halving the dose and build up gradually. today I have only taken 250 dose and now have indigestion

Things are so different
Maybe some of you read my first posts. OK, to keep the story short. Last December I lost my flying medical because the doc saw my LFT results and having a high ggt he saw only one thing, he said I had alcohol issues. I tried to explain the results had been high but stable for years but no, in his eyes

2O15 Name Change
Hi, Just to inform you that PBC will now be known as Primary Biliary Cholangitis. There are many people round the world who worked hard to make this happen but there is much to be done to now publicise the change. Our new (coincidental) website will be live very soon; our new leaflets will be available

Daughters chest pain / reflux / gallstones
I've posted many times on my poor daughter's constant pain below middle of her ribs. She saw a private slug of a gastro twice - had an abdominal scan that showed gallstones which means her gallbladder needs to be removed. 3 yrs back and forth to GP and no advice from 6 monthly Endo check ups. No

IBS/Gall Bladder-stones/?
I know IBS is another one of those problems some FMS sufferers struggle with. Some years ago I was having awful problems, CT scan revealed slightly inflamed gall bladder, with 2 huge stones that were too dangerous to remove or 'blast', at risk of blocking bile duct which is dangerous. I made some diet

Turmeric
I'm taking a table spoon of turmeric powder , pepper , cinnamon in juice , milk or in water every day cause it has a strong anti_inflammatory substance called circumin for inflammation .. Just yesterday, I been told from one Pbc.org's member that turmeric is not good for gallbladder and bile duct

Feeling Better
Hi everyone. Quick update. Feeling much better this week then last. To start me off im going to reduce my calories to 1250. My dad used this method before he had his gastric bypass 3 years ago and he lost loads. On that note what's people's thoughts and opinions on any gastric surgery?

Should I start URSO?
Hi there, I was diagnosed with PBC in 2010, following the birth of my first son. I had no symptoms except high LFT levels, which returned to normal about 8 months later. LFT's have then been consistently normal until birth of my second son in Nov 2014, where they spiked for about 3 months. LFT's have

Home iv's
Hi Everyone, well after several 'problems' since December (2 exacerbations and 1 virus) my doctor at Papworth decided I needed iv's. It was agreed that I could do them at home as there is a very easy way of administering them which does not involve syringes with needles. I went on Wednesday to spend

Not sure which way it is going :/
We saw the Consultant who said he wants to try an ERCP to stent and also clear bile debris. This won't solve the deep bile problem but will give some relief of these awful symptoms... hopefully. They are now saying they want to try all avenues before re listing... Another thing they will try if this
