Flattened villi?
I had a biopsy for celiac and it came back ok although I have flattened villi. Does anyone know what the biopsy is and what can be shown from it? Incidentally, the cause from the flattened villi is most probably Bile Salt Absorption which I have been diagnosed since with. But I have gone gluten free

So I don't know if it matters, but I noticed through my reading that most of the posters are in the UK. I am in the US and have been reading the boards for a bit while I waited for the rest of my results to come in and for the final confirmation. I was informed on January 8th by my gastroenterologist

Hello! Just stumbled across this and couldn't be happier!
Hi! My name is Taylor and I am 23 years old. I was diagnosed with PBC at 19 but they think it all started at 14. I had my gall bladder removed as precaution but it didn't help so after a few years of testing and such they came to the conclusion it was PBC. I've noticed its mostly people in their 40s

Foam in mouth after eating
I am 2 years and 3 months post op. I have had a couple of dilatations, the last in October. I am experiencing some problems such as after eating I get a great deal of foaming in the mouth, then get a feeling of something lodging in the throat and then I tend to vomit. I am on Lazaparazole twice daily

One thing after another
A few weeks ago I had my biggest flare yet ( sle ) finally got well enough to return to work, less than a week later got the most horrific abdominal pains...the pain put me doubled up on my bedroom floor with my partner feeling rather scared. Refused ESA
Hi everyone , some of you may remember me posting before , I have a tumour at the bottom of my spine , I had applied for ESA as my statutory sick pay has now come to an need, I was refused this as despite working as a nurse for 36 years and 2 years in an office before that until I was old enough to start

Experience with LFT's going up and down??
Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed in April with PBC. My LFT's and GGT were through the roof--I am talking an Alkaline Phosphatase of 1400. I began taking URSO, and after 2 months, my ALP had gone down to 366 and my AST and ALT were in the high 40's--down from 200 or so. All was well, but just had my blood

News for you
Hi all, I have not been on the site to post (only read all your messages) since I went back to school in September; what a shock to my system it has been after being off so long with all my health problems. I have felt overwhelmed by it all; new schemes of work, new classes, data, targets etc. Sadly

Positive AMA but negative for M2
I have recently had blood tests done which reveal positive results for AMA and ANA (640 titre) but negative for M2. My liver ultrasound was clear and the only other abnormal blood result was a high GGT (just over 2x upper acceptable limit). I have a hospital consultation soon. Can anyone shed some light

A young close family member recently had an abnormal smear test, sent for colposcopy and biopsy, letter came with results today , Says 'shows you have cin3,' then says to have laser treatment. Nowhere does it say what cin3 is! There should at least be an explanation of what cin3 means. we have been

Do you have Gallstones?A pain in the ………shoulder?
Gallstones are hard masses of
bile
salts
, pigments and cholesterol that develop within the gallbladder. The stones form when the components of bile crystallise. They can increase in size over many years as more crystallisation occurs.

hi all, I have been diagnosed with both anti mitochondrial antibodies (AMA) (primary biliary cirrhosis) and anti smooth muscle (ASM) (autoimmune hepatitis). Apparently it is uncommon to have both and I will be starting medication shortly Ursofalk and Entocort steroids. Anyone else out there in a similar
