I had gastric bypass surgery in 2005, developed empty sella syndrome in 2008, not diagnosed till 2012 and because absorption of thyroid is always difficult even with a normal stomach. My endocrinologist gives me 150micrograms of levothyroxen(T4) and 10mg of liothyroxin (T3) every 4-6 hours stopping before dinner.

My symptom of the empty sella syndrome(which is loss of pituitary gland) was severe hypoglycemia with one episode where I completely passed out.

I am interested in knowing if anyone with gastric bypass surgery developed the empty sella syndrome after the surgery? Thanks
