Promising response to fenofibrate
Some of you may remember a couple of months ago I was asking if anyone had tried fenofibrate to treat PBC. Only a small number of people here had been prescribed it. After a sudden increase in all of my liver enzymes last year and exclusion of AIH by biopsy my specialist felt my response to Urso was

Confused!
Post cholecystectomy. Enlarged gall bladder but no obvious stone. Liver function tests raised. Post op liver function tests all return to normal but positive AMA M2. No other signs or symptoms. Just wondering if M2 could have been positive because of op conditions and now LFTs are normal and any

What difference a week makes :-(
I posted last week about being in a NASTY flare (the worst since diagnosis 1.5 years ago!) and went to Rheumy and he gave me a steroid shot and steroid pills for 2 weeks. Well after a couple of days the shot and pills kicked in and WOW! I felt great! Then a week later, all h&$*& has broken loose in

Symptoms common after gastric bypass
POSTER'S COMMENTS: "Pain and other symptoms of discomfort are hard to bear and potentially worrying. I am posting these research findings as it is reassuring to learn that a relatively benign procedure carried out in patients without a critical morbidity (IE Cancer) still leads to long term side effects

Porcelain gallbladder
Hi all haven't posted for awhile have been poorly again just been diagnosed with porcelain gallbladder and waiting for Mri scan and then will be given a date for surgery, I believe that there is a connection between under active thyroid and gallstones and having my parathyroids removed and prescribed

Urso Questions
Hi, Everyone, I've been on Urso for 9 weeks and I've been fortunate to have good results already: GGT - from 750 to 164 ALT - from 450 to 35 ALP - from 513 to 193 Cholesterol - from 375 to 28 (Fibroscan 10.7 - not retested) Here are my questions: 1. How long until Urso "bottoms out" and you stop

Zantac (Ranitidine)
Has anyone taken Zantac for IBS and if so did it help with symptoms particularly pain, bloating and loud rumbling noises.

reducing pred after an operation
I had my second Cochlear implant two days ago. Taking painkillers so not aware of any PMR increase in pain. I did not start reducing to 10mg before the op and wondered when would people suggest I start reducing the pred again.

A routine seems to help.
So for the last 3 years I have not been able to have any type of routine. My husband Mr C has been eating the same foods and drinking the same drinks, watching the same shows, going to sleep about the same time etc. So I decided to try and start a routine. He is up by 7 am, has his breakfast by 8 am.

Nervous about diagnosis
Hi, everyone. I'm seeing my consultant next week and I'm very scared. I just had a fibroscan result of 10.7. My MRI showed shrunken left liver lobe and dilated bile duct. ALP about 500, Ggt about 600, ALT goes up and down but high of about 450. I don't drink alcohol. BMI about 18.2. Multiple gallstones
