DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide)
Just curious, has anyone here tried dmso for pain and inflammation and what has been your experience. I've researched it quite a bit and find it very interesting.

Will a CT scan of the pancreas show PBC?
Hi, I had a CT scan of the pancreas 2 years ago and am wondering if it would have also showed a problem with the liver such as bile ducts etc? Many thanks, Andy

Gallstones found.
Okay! Hi all, oh boy do I have a story. Back in March I was having a very very mild burning feeling in my stomach. I went for an abdominal ultrasound which came back totally normal. Then throughout April, I started getting these god awful pains high up in the pit centre of my stomach, a couple hours

Hi there, what to do if you are only ama-m2 positive but have normal liver function test ?
Hi everyone. I'm very glad to find this place. It's really helpful reading the posts here. Sorry for my English as I'm not an native English speaker, but I'll try my best to make it understandable. As far as I know, 2 out of 3 requirements are needed to make a diagnose of PBC. 1. ama-m2 positive 2.

Blocked bile ducts
Is it possible to have blocked bile ducts with no symptoms ? Just had my telephone consultation but not with my usual consultant. I have been sent for blood tests every week for the last three weeks because they were convinced I had a flare up of CMV only for them to show positive for EBV. One minute

ALT elevation, Liver question
Hi everyone first post ... so here it goes I’m 34/f, fit, I use to drink (mild, just causally). I am seeing a heptologist due to mild fluctuating ALT over the last few years and my ggt is elevated too. MRI normal, ultrasound normal x2 , had a liver biopsy normal but they didn’t get enough of a sample

Gallbladder pain - left side?
Hi everyone. New here. Recently had a diagnosis of gallstones following 2 months of central and right sided abdominal pain and going back and forth to the GP who kept querying indigestion. It finally took the pain getting so bad, and me calling 111 to get an appointment with an OOH GP who suggested

Bezafibrate with Urso really helps
Everyone with PBC and increasing ALP should ask for the combi-therapy with Bezafibrat. Your doctor can prescribe it with the diagnosis: metabolic fat disorder, so to avoid that it is not yet approved for PBC, because studies are so expensive for this cheap medicine. (We all Pbc-ers have metabolic fat-disorder

Could I Have a Gall Stone Without a Gallbladder?
Hi all - I’m new to this forum so go easy on me! 😉 Last night I was suffering from, what felt like, a trapped gall stone. I have had one before where my gall bladder was removed and a stone removed from duct prior to that. Is this possible? Nauseous then throwing up yellow bile; Diarrhea; slight fever

Hi all I've joined this forum on behalf of my mum ... She won't do these herself because I think she just gets to upset half the time . But she's had no smell or tastebuds for a year now . She's had tests and they can't find anything but reading on-line it seems to stem from some trauma ( mainly

Anyone here familiar with LDD (low dose dipyridamole), new medicine to help fibro patients with pain relief?
Hi All, I recently read an article that I found interesting about a new medicine called Low Dose Dipyridamole which helps fibromyalgia patients with pain relief. Is anyone familiar with it or has anyone here ever tried it? Here is a link to the article if any of you would like to read it: https://medium.com

Clever guts diet
Morning all. I’m determined to stick with the clever guts diet in the hope it will put a spring back in my step. I made the nutty granola yesterday, it is lush but has given me indigestion! I think I will make it with less nuts because as wonderful as they were I think 400g nuts to 180g oats and flax

Gastric Bypass and PBC
So has anyone else had gastric bypass? I have PBC and I'm worried if it will affect it negatively or positively. Also does PBC affect the thyroid?

Six monthly check-up
Good evening all Hope you are doing well and having more good days than bad. I have been to the Liver Unit today for my routine scan which seems to be scheduled for every six months now. I think the news was mostly good - my liver is less inflamed, no signs of anything unpleasant developing and spleen
