PBC and diet
On developing the itch I have not been advised to lower my
bile
salts
by eating a low fat diet, but from reading online, this might be helpful? Can anyone offer any insight?

Operation Moonshot proposals are scientifically unsound, experts argue.
The idea of Moonshot is to frequently use new point-of-care tests across the whole population to detect asymptomatic disease. The Moonshot proposals are based on a computer model and not a real study. Whilst it has been reported that the model shows that “less accurate” tests are suitable for use in

Anyone else with suspected gall bladder stones, but pain on left side, not right?
Hi, thanks for adding me! I was wondering if anyone else has similar symptoms to me? I am awaiting a scan. Years of intermittent pain, bloating, wind and feeling nauseous. My symptoms have escalated. Terrible pain in middle of rib cage but towards the left, is happening 2-3 a week now. Drs keep saying

CT scan liver report
Hello, I had a CT abdomen/pelvis which came back all normal. I was hoping for more around the size/shape/fat in my liver and only received the below. Should I expect more detail or is the lack of anything bad being mentioned a good sign? Hepatobiliary: No lesion. Normal gallbladder. No biliary dilatation

Some notes on Mannitol
There has been much discussion about Teva levothyroxine in the UK and Levothyrox (formerly Euthyrox) in France and other countries - where it appears that the mannitol ingredient could be the cause of issues. I found a few papers about mannitol and thought that they could be of some interest. There

Pbc? Or not?
Here’s my latest story: I was diagnosed with PBC in 2017 and put on urso immediately. I had the standard 2 out of 3 positives to make a diagnosis. Elevated alk phos, positive AMA2 but never biopsy. After 3 years of doing proper liver diet healthy living my new liver specialist retested my AMA2 and it

Itch / bile acids / diet
I have written down the names of 6 different medications mentioned in the forums, such as Cholestyramine (Questran) - it's my understanding they bind the
bile
acid/
salts
that are under our skin and make us itch.
