A little update on my liver biopsy

Hello Guys, its such an amazing feeling interacting with you and its my hope that you are all taking care of yourselves.

I underwent a liver biopsy 2 weeks ago.I am sorry I kept quiet but it was a long arduous experience for me waiting for the results.

My LFTs were/are really high and being a teetotaller I was really confused.

The results of the biopsy came out on Saturday last week and I have Chronic hepatitis Grade 2 level 1 caused by Mesacol,a drug I have been taking since February 2019 for treatment of ulcerative colitis.

I am hoping for good results moving forward and thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and love.

Hi Mutethia sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with Chronic Hepatitis, I hope that now you can move forward and get the help you need and make a good recovery.

Just thought I'd say hi as I am also someone with a liver adversely affected by drugs - in my case it was from an antibiotic (Flucloxacillin) in November for a sebaceous cyst. It has caused extensive damage to the bile ducts of my liver, identifed through a biopsy, like yourself.

Hope you are feeling well generally and hope you are taking care of yourself

Hi Niamh

Thank you for the words of encouragement.I am feeling a lot better. I think the fear of the unknown is what brings us down but once we know what we are facing, there's a calmness in that.

I am sorry to hear about your condition. How are you fairing now?Is the doctor saying if it can be reversed and you can get better?

Please keep us updated and we will pray for you to get better.

all the best.

Eric
