Just 5% of therapies tested in animals end up as as human drugs, new study shows. CLL research has particular challenges due to the TME

thyroid issues and a fibs???
Does anyone on this site know if there is a link between a fibs and a high TSH blood test? I have been hypothyroid most of my life and have to take synthroid, due to a partial thyroidectomy in my twenties. I am now 69 and have recently developed a fibs. I also might have apnea; am getting a sleep

I hope you all take the time to read Ipsen Pharmaceutical's announcements concerning PBC drugs.. Just google ' Ipsen Pharmaceutical announcement' ........ keeping the use of placebos in the clinical trials just wanted valuable time from those who are not responders to other drugs - Urso and OCA.'

AZP2006 - Update
My husband has Parkinsons - I am always researching as to what is new and what might be helpful besides using the gold standard - Levodopa/Carbidopa for Parkinsons which incidentally was developed in the 1960's. It's high time that there is new research and new drugs available for Parkinsons patients

Leukemia-associated macrophages, their role in the CLL Tumor Micro-environment and how they affect progression and therapy response
Understanding how the CLL Tumor Micro-environment (TME) functions is crucial to improving CLL therapy. CLL cells are not as robust as healthy B cells and they rely on their created TME in the nodes and bone marrow for their survival. That's why it's so easy to kill CLL cells with in vitro testing - checking

Clinical impact of mutated JAK2 allele burden reduction in polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia
»The variant allele frequency (VAF) of driver mutations (JAK2, CALR) in myeloproliferative neoplasms is associated with features of advanced disease and complications. Ruxolitinib and interferon were reported to variably reduce the mutant VAF, but the long-term impact of molecular responses (MR) remains

Genetic background strongly influences the impact of carrying the Thr92Ala-DIO2 polymorphism in the male mouse
Are you male? Are you a mouse? Do you carry the Thr92Ala-DIO2 allele? Can you wait for the publication of this paper? Can you wait for the human version of this trial? And do you consider it necessary to wait for the eventual publication of the human trial before considering T3? It is undoubtedly

I had a partial thyroidectomy about 2010. My thyroid levels were fine for several years but then started dropping into hypothyroidism range. I was put on Levothyroxine at 50mg and was ok for few years. Tested Jan 2023 was ok. Tested early Feb 2024 and was hyper not hypo so my gp reduced the levothyroxine
