Seeking Advice on Clinical Trials or Treatments for Advanced Prostate Cancer with Bone Marrow Involvement
Dear Forum Members, I am reaching out for guidance and support regarding my father’s ongoing battle with advanced prostate cancer. About a year ago, he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer with extensive bone metastases but no organ involvement. Recently, we discovered that he has a BRCA2 mutation

Measurable residual disease (MRD) status predicts Progression Free Survival (PFS) for patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
[i]Measurable residual disease (MRD) refers to the presence of disease at low levels not detected by conventional pathologic analysis. The association of MRD status as a surrogate end point of clinical outcome in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has not been established in the era of targeted agents

PMRGCAuk Annual Meeting....I wasn't alone today~!!
After my dress rehearsal last week, I got up at 4:30 AM, Central Time in the States, and was the only person at the Zoom link. I'm thrilled to report that I remembered today, and there were quite a few people. It was wonderful to put faces to the names of HU staff, Trustees, and some 'soul sisters' from

Dose reductions
I just saw my oncologist today and she agreed to lower my Ibrance from 100 to 75! Oncologists are finally getting it. Hoping to have more energy in the future. I also asked her about the studies that say every other day for AI is also sufficient. She seem a little hesitant to endorse that (not surprised

Mindblowing (and hopefully actionable soon): Innovative In-Vivo Reprogramming to Transform Cancer Therapy
it could work also in the context of cold tumors like prostate cancer! The bad part, they think they will be ready for clinical trials in 2 years. A new immuno-oncology approach is being developed to reprogram tumor cells into dendritic cells directly within the patient, bypassing traditional cell therapy

Aussies will save us all: from Oz, a molecule that can (could) treat resistant prostate cancer
They will need some time still...but... "CDKI-73 is currently being investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials in patients with relapsed and therapy-resistant acute myeloid leukaemia, an aggressive blood cancer." Which means that at least we would not have to wait for a phase 1 to tell us the therapeutic

Edit: I have gone back and added in some details that I've remembered that might be helpful, so if you've read this in the past few days you may notice some changes. You are not crazy. A quick disclaimer: I'm sure everyone realizes that I may have made mistakes, and that recommendations for taking

Maybe This Is What We Need For Thyroid Sufferers
Following on from Rapunzel's post about TUK mission statement and how we could do with a campaign or high profile celebrity to raise awareness, I just spotted this article in the Guardian today. I wish them every success in trying to find better treatments and diagnosis for a truly awful disease. I

Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with a Glioblastoma?
Researchers in Oxford are in the early stages of a planning a new clinical trial called Recurrent-GB for patients diagnosed with a Glioblastoma and would greatly appreciate any feedback on the trial design. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and can be completed by a patient

Advice please
I had a partial thyroidectomy (left removed) in April 2023. I am on 50mg levothyroxine but I am still not feeling right. I am having trouble regulating my temperature, my hair has tinned a lot. I am tired, ache, have put on weight and feel miserable. Keep being told by GP that my TSH is in normal range
