Wounds not healing
I have written about my situation in previous posts. I am just wondering if anyone has tried anything for healing small breast wounds that have not healed in 6 wks. after radiation. They insist the only thing is saline soak with dressing. Maybe I don't want to face the reality of my situation.

World Diabetes Day- Preventing Diabetic Leg Amputation
World Diabetes Day is observed on November 14.
"
Every 17 seconds, a diabetic is diagnosed and every 30 seconds a diabetic leg amputation takes place somewhere in the world
". This seems unbelievable, but true...This is what the official
journal of the American Diabetic Association says

Infected abrasion
My abrasion over ankle is infected because of hot saline fomentation which was prescribed by doctor to reduce swelling. I had applied soframycin before that. There are small fluid bubbles around my wound. What should I do?

Effects of Radiation
I finished 15 radiation treatments on my breast on Oct. 9. I am still doing saline treatment and wound care. Just wondering if this is normal. Anyone else take that long? The radiation nurse said last week it would be a month more to heal. I am very concerned about not letting it get into a chronic

Finally seem to be improving.
I am 55 and have been struggling with a yearlong plus flare up that hasn't resolved despite the usual treatment with inhaled steroids (Qvar). A couple of additional things have really helped and perhaps worth considering. FIrst, I went on spiriva. Its a copd med also used for asthma as a long-acting

Combined ascorbic acid and T3 produce better healing compared to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in an Achilles tendon injury rat model
Even orthopaedic specialists seem to be getting to understand and appreciate T3 better than endocrinologists! Of course, the opposite might be just as important a lesson. Inadequate T3 (and, let us assume, ascorbic acid) is likely to impair healing of tendons. [i]J Orthop Surg Res. 2019; 14: 54

Behcet's and sinus problems
This is my first post here... I was curious if anyone else with Behcet's has had sinus issues? I was diagnosed with Behcet's this past spring, though I've been showing signs since I was 21 (27 now). I am taking colchicine now to help with symptoms. When I was 16, I had surgery to correct a deviated

My Port keeps clogging.
My port has been clogging... they used that Activace (for TIAs) to unclog it... but read that can be risky. Should be saline or is heparin better?

Taken off Ocaliva today.
Due to my weight loss I had to have a colonoscopy/EGD today just to check things out. Dr said if he found no reason in these procedures for weight loss, I was to stop Ocaliva immediately. I did have a few polyps which he feels are not suspicious but sent them to pathology anyway. I saw this GI when

Bronchiectasis flare up
Hi all I’m 34 and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis in April 2014. I managed to get things under control using saline nebuliser with an acapella duet attached and didn’t have an infection for almost two years. However I had my son (second child) in January and my chest continued to be ok. Since starting

Dry eyes- many causes & symptoms - light sensitivity
I have been learning about the function of tears and found that there are several layers that affect the lubrication of our eyes. There is an aqueous or water layer. But there are also a lipid, oil, layer that keeps the water from evaporating and a mucin layer that helps adhere the water to the eyes.

Normal flora
Hi, glad to join. I have asthma and bronchiectasis following a chemical accident with ammonia 11 years ago. Whenever I have a “chest infection” my doctor sends off a sputum sample (before antibiotics started) but it always comes back as normal flora. My respiratory consultant says this is not a chest

17 years with metastatic prostate cancer - operation 2 and a dance with Lu
It’s been around eleven months since my last post, so I thought I’d put together an update for those of you who are interested. It’s quite a long one. Apologies for that, but hopefully it will be of interest. It’s also helped me just to set it all out. A kind of therapy, if you will. So, after a few

Update on stomach mets
Hi Ladies, went to see my oncologist last Wednesday, she put me straight into hospital. Lost nearly 2st. Cannot eat at all, put on a saline drip and high protein food straight into the stomach. Apparently the feeding tube to the stomach has thickened, so wont let food through. They are going to try

Does anyone have experience with treating chronic post nasal drip, sore throat, congestion?
👋 Hi! I have been experiencing post nasal drip for around 6 months now. It is causing me to have a sore/irritated throat. I have congestion and pressure in my nasal area, waking with a dry mouth and my ear feels blocked. I have so far tried over the counter steroid nasal spray, Avamys (GP prescribed

Cycle One Done - This has been the toughest week!
This is a long post - please accept my apologies in advance. Cycle one effectively done (next week chemo free just consultant follow up). Week started Monday with picc line. That was a little uncomfortable but nowhere near as bad as I thought. Unfortunately I mentioned some back pain and the team insisted
