Want to purchase a nebuliser not for medication but to be used for saline so can be used couple times a day to loosen mucus to bring up. Had it in hospital when had pneumonia. Anyone got one and would recommend.

Two invaluable products
I have always been a snuffely person even as a child. Now I have Emphysema to contend with. Two things which have really helped me, apart from the usual medications.......my handy saline spray (called Fess here in Oz) - this helps unblock my nose, especially in the morning; and believe it or not, chewing

Nebulising saline directly before sputum sample - does this effect the sample?
Every time I do a sputum sample (unless it's asked for at clinic or GP's surgery) I always nebulise a bronchodilator followed by physio, so I can get sample from various areas of the lung. I always hesitate to nebulise saline 0.9% or hypertonic 7% in case it effects the sample in a negative way.

First Chemo was ..
..not so bad, the nurse was lovely, she chatted for ages, had a cold flush and then the chemo followed by saline for ten minutes, I had to have a warmer on my hand as it was so cold it hurt. I realise my biggest fear was the needle and still is for next time. Bloods on 22nd, docotr on 23rd more chemo

My worst chemo day so far -- major grump time
Sorry its a grump blog. Those ladies nervous about chemo may wish to not read on. Its not nasty I promise-- just a great example of how things don't always go to plan which has happened today in spades. This is now officially my worst chemo day ever. I thought last week was bad with 8 attempts to

Best nebulisers
Hello everyone. I have bronchiectasis. I nebulise hypertonic saline, then breathing exercises before inhaling nebulised colomycin twice a day. My question is to find out from those of you who perform this routine, what are the best nebulisers? I have been loaned one from the NHS, but it is heavy

A Tale of Two Kidneys: Yet more continued monthly ramblings.........
This month I have discovered that when it comes to pain there is something even worse than meningitis, child birth and even a 7.5 hour half ironman triathlon. I find the child birth one hard to believe as I didn't feel anything when my children were born with the exception of discovering my wife had

any advice on what to do next? My mum has just been diagnosed with PPC and the doctors at our Hospital have already given up?! HELP?!
My mum is 61 years old and this has come on very very quickly. She has been in and out of hospital for the last two months, originally with pneumonia which we now realise was fluid in her lungs from the cancer and a blood clot. Before this she was healthy. Four weeks ago she was diagnosed with Primary

My story- It may not be all rosy but it is as it is
One day 8 years or so ago I was looking forward to a first time trip to America. I had never been so far before and it was a once in a lifetime tour of California and the Gold Coast. I had been having a bit of trouble with fluid retention in my legs so, worried about D.V.T. I thought I would go

GP and information
Been to the GP to find out what is available in the community regarding IV antibiotics. He is going to look into what is available here - hospital at home entails a nurse visiting up to 2 times a day plus social care - home carer's. But they do not do IV’s! The consultant said when I get these bad infections
