Kinda confused
I was tested for Intrinsic Factor in August, by GP previously gave me B12 and folic acid tablets. Due to my thyroid problems etc, all my blood results are posted on my patient access site so that I can see them. My IF is not there, when enquiring at the surgery I have had several conflicting answers:

Feeling worse but GP says test results fine.
Had blood test done via Blue Horizon. Showed B12 198 "insufficient". Tried B12 patches, which help, but effect lasts 3 days only. Returned to GP who repeated test for B12, Folate and supposedly intrinsic factor. Just phoned for results. Serum B12 299.8 ( I'd not used a patch or any supplements for week

Massively confused about RA diagnosis
Hi everybody! I am new here and also quite new to RA. I was just diagnosed July 1, 2016. I had joint pain that moved around for 3 years but I just chalked it up to sleeping wrong or something, only because I'm 30 (this started when I was 27) and I didn't even know what RA was. Well, the joint pain took

Will B12 patches affect blood test for Intrinsic Factor.
Saw GP yesterday. After going round in circles for some time he agreed a blood test for I.F. My B12 ( private blood test I had done as GP wasn't interested) showed 198. I bought some B12 patches and they've helped enormously but the effect only lasts for 2 days. Blood test for IF can't be done until

Frustration & Endoscopy wait
Hello everyone. I've been waiting a while for my intrinsic factor test result. Decided to chase up the doctors to see what was happening. Phoned them up this morning and found they already had the test result back- returned negative result. Not too surprised. (but wondering if they were actually planning

Hi all had a break from treatment as thought I had a neuro condition- I didn't. Last rheum was awful. Went to docs today and he was really nice and he said that the last hospital I went to wasn't v good and seemed keen to refer me to the hospital I want. He has tested me for rheumatoid factor as he

14 is that high for Rheumatoid Factor.
My blood test indicates this is high. All other tests normal. ANA is clear. ESR and one other in normal range. Is it possible to have RA without these other signs? I sure feel like I am living through a flare and have lived through a few others. My eyeballs are even dry! What is happening here?

Absorption: Thyroxine: Low stomach acid, Hashimoto's - and Pernicious Anaemia
This I hope, may help anyone who has Hashimoto's, or both Hashimoto's and Pernicious Anaemia I have discovered that taking my thyroxine tablets with a teaspoon or so of apple cider vinegar (acidic) or similar, crunching tablets with the cider vinegar in my mouth before swallowing, is working for me,

Castor Oil packs to help fertility?
Like we all do Ive been on google again and found a weird craze of people soaking a cloth in castor oil then putting on their stomach, placing a hotwater bottle on top and laying there for an hour. The theory is that the oil somehow 'fixes and heals' - ive done the hot bottle while doing ivf & believe

Intrinsic factor antibody test ranges??
I'm b12 deficient first diagnosed in 2012 by a reluctant GP. He ordered an intrinsic antibody test which was 2.4 Southend lab range 0-6. So this was normal. I've had treatment and b12 comes and goes according to my levels. However it's now 2016 and I've revisited this as I believe this is auto immune

Pins and needles after b12
hi there, so I was recently diagnosed as being deficient in b12. I do not test positive for intrinsic factor but for parietal cell antibody. I had a number of neurological symptoms that came on at once a few months ago-the main symptom being a burning scalp, then on/off dizziness and an on/off feeling
