Mood changes
Hi all, I thought initially amitriptyline as a prevention medication had been working for my migraines, I only take up to 20mg however been told I could increase this to 30mg if I wanted to. I have also been prescribed Sumatriptan for when an attack occurs. I know dosages can be taken higher over time

Saliva Adrenal Testing while on Antidepressents
Hi, I am thinking of having this test done privately. My only concern is could the fact I am on Amitriptyline cause the results to be out of line? I am only on a small dose 30 a night. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Sceptical GP wants me off Pred and on Amitriptyline
Hello everyone. Recap – 69 years old male and up till 2 years ago very fit and active. I’ve posted a few times before but this time I really need some advice! After 2 years on Pred, I reduced to 4.5mg, and have had, depressingly, to increase again to 7.5mg. Sadly splitting the dose didn't help, but

Today's rheumy review
First - so many thanks for all the supportive comments when I posted yesterday, you lovely people. You really helped me clarify my thoughts and go into today's appointment in a positive frame of mind. The outcome was a mixed bag, which I am going to have to reflect on in the coming days and weeks. 22 Years of Treatment. No help.
I am 55 years old and have suffered from depression and general anxiety since age 17. (I was a happy child until age 12, then I began to change, and five years later the depression was fully in place.) For many years I avoided seeking help but finally saw a psychiatrist twenty-two years ago. Since that

Amitriptyline-Depression
Hiya. Are you asking if anyone is on Amitriptyline for depression? If so, I am. This is the second time I've been on Amitriptyline. I find it very good and I hardly get any side effects apart from the drowsy feeling in the morning on initiation of treatment. That seems to continue if I up my dose. The

Amitriptyline - prescribed for Osteo/RA.
Hi - I am new here Apt this week at Addenbrookes resulted in the above - as a painkiller which would also help me to sleep (pain wakes me up). Leaflets says antidepressant. I am certainly not depressed although fed up with the pain but concerned about the drug group. Any feedback about this drug

Turmeric
last week I decided on the qt to start taking Turmeric 500mg x 2 daily ,mainly due to the fact I have been unable to restart my MTX due a current ongoing infection, which resulted in a stay in hospital late last year. Anyway today I saw my GP, who remarked that I seem to be moving a lot easier than previously

Got a diagnosis now stumped?
Thanks to all who replied to my question about getting diagnosed it's been a great help! As I have now been to see rheumy I am now more confused, after chatting to her about all my symptoms etc. she has said I have fibromyalgia and discharged me. I'm not sure to be relieved to get a diagnosis or not

Back on Amitriptyline
Well, I tried to come off it. Did about 5 months and o have gradually spiralled into depression and also have a huge hit of horrible anxiety to go with it this time. I've tried SSRIs, I don't like them. I already have trouble sleeping and an SSRI makes me feel like I'm on speed so is no good. My GP
