Race for life!!!!! WOOOHOOO! well I never thought I'd say that!
Well... I only bloomin well DID IT! :-) yup! Thats me with my daughter in the picture! I must say I did have to walk after the 3 k mark for about a minute and then again just before the 500km mark again, but I RAN most of the way! Why Me?..
Does anyone else think that sometimes maybe life isn't worth living for. Everyday i go through the same thing over and over again, Sleep, school, put on lotion, sleep etc. I hate not being really pretty like the other girls at school and wearing slutty shorts and tank tops showing off their body's, at

Hysterectomy done now the HRT decision
So after many sleepless nights due to the pain of endo & the worry I finally had my hysterectomy last wednesday, including removal of my ovaries & tubes. I must admitt I am in nowhere near as much pain as i thought i would be & i am feeling more positive & optemistic than i have done in years so hopefully

First Aid for Choking.
My mother, who is 82, was recently diagnosed and now lives with me. She frequently coughes, wheezes and breathes heavily, especially at night. I am very frightened that she will choke and I won't know how to help her. Is there any official first-aid approach for PSP-type choking that I should know

Does phlebitis in surface veins show up in an ultrasound?
I have had a couple of leg venous ultrasounds, which I passed with flying colors, in the past year. But recent developments -- pain goes away with higher INR, the stronger the leg muscles get, now that I have returned to exercise and PT --the less pain in my legs I feel -- All suggest that the DVT-like

My diagnosis
Hi all, I am new to the site and this is the second time I have tried to post this so fingers crossed it works this time! I suffered a DVT back in 1998 when my two boys were 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 respectively so a surprise to everyone that with all that running around and as a non-smoker I'd be a candidate

Temporary Sleep Aid
I once sought psychological comfort for this depressing disorder and told them that getting to sleep was difficult for me. I'm not too fond of a lot of meds and especially sleep aids so it was suggested that I try benadryl, it works and to continue its effectiveness I alter the dosage from week to week

'Funny Turns' and Hughes Syndrome
Having been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome in 2002 (main symptoms: numb fingers, blind spots, migraines, dizziness, unsteady gait, speach and memory problems) and having seen Prof Hughes, then and subsequently, I was tried first with 75mg aspirin (no effect), then Plavix (no effect), then 5,000IU Fragmin

Has anyone tried progesterone cream?
I've been suffering with endo for years and also have severe pms. Having tried Prozac for the last two years to help with the pms and having laparoscopies every few years I'm quite keen to try this more natural approach. I just wondered if any of you have tried progesterone cream and if it's helped you

What is the brand name of your URSO if you had the itch upon starting and how is your prescription for it written.
I can't help wondering what others are on for PBC medication-wise with regards to the URSO. I have the URDOX brand and my GP gives me a prescription with just Ursodeoxycholic Acid and the mgs/tabs per day. Have heard such a thing as generic drugs but not fully sure what that means and if so, are there

APS is associated with transverse myelitis
Transverse myelitis or TM may be a clinical presentation of APS according to doctors, Hehdi, Uthman and Khamashta. One symptom associated with TM is neuromyelitis optica which causes eye pain. One can be tested for an antibody marker called NMO-igG. Personally, I am trying to distinguish symptoms of

HAIR LOSS and METHATREXATE
I am on MTX injections (long term) and my hair is getting thinner by the week, I even have small patches where my hair is missing altogether. I'm wondering if this drug is causing it. Anyone else experiencing this and does anyone know how to combat the problem?
