Feeling so lonely

I’ve now turned 40 which in fertility years is last chance saloon in my head. My husband and I have been through a fresh cycle which was an early miscarriage and first EVER time in 12 years we’ve seen a positive result. The FET was negative and we decided to take a break. The plan was to start another fresh cycle in May but I’ve had an issue with abnormal bleeding this cycle I bled for 3 weeks!! I’m now bleed free for 6 days but went to the fertility clinic for a scan which they can see a submucosal fibroid (which we already knew about) but couldn’t measure the size of it. Not sure it is because at the time I was still spotting. The specialist put me on 5 days of Provera to guess what - induce another bleed. During the scan they could tell I ovulated but the egg wasn’t that great.

So I’m left with 3 options she said:

1. Take Provera wait for bleed, call the clinic with day one of this period and start IVF cycle

2. Take Provera wait for bleed, call the clinic they put me on birth control and I start Buserelin on day 21

3. Take the Provera wait for bleed and wait a few cycles til I feel like there isn’t anymore abnormal bleeding

I’ve had problems with fibroids in the past and have had 2 previous surgeries to remove them. Now that I’m 40 I feel like waiting for any longer is not an option.

My husband is lovely but I just feel so alone at the moment. This is constantly playing in my mind.

Anyone been through anything like this and have any advice?

Sorry for your early loss. I don’t have any experience of fibroids but hopefully someone will be able to advise you xx

I don’t know much about fibroids but would a freeze all cycle be an option? Wouldn’t the fibroid just affect implantation so could you do egg collection soon but get the fibroid dealt with afterwards then have an FET?

I’m so sorry you are having such a hard time.

Thanks Lizzie. As we are self funding a freeze all is not an option for us that would a be a total of £10k which we don’t have. £7k for the fresh and then £3k for the FET.

Ouch! Expensive! But would it be so much if there was no ET at the end of the fresh cycle? I guess it wouldn’t make a big difference. 😢 I’m sorry

They would essentially class it as a fresh cycle at my clinic.

Thanks Lizzie
