Provera

hi has anyone taken these? Any feedback if it does stop the bleeding or any side effects? Also after you have stopped taking them have you had heavy bleeding again. Doctor has prescribed them because I’m suddenly bleeding a lot after my marina coil has ran out. This has been going on for 6 weeks now

Hi, had provera for forced bleeding to do some tests as i never get beriods due to having pcos. It was one off but since then i been having small spotting for few days and then leriod for 5 days and spotting for 2 days and thats been happening every 4 weeks roughly past 4 months.

My previous consultant tried to do a hysterectomy in September 2023 and found endometriosis had fused my bowel to my cervix and ovaries so abandoned it and I went on Provera. I had 4 months of hell on Provera, and then went onto Zoladex which has changed my life.

I have non existent periods and had to take provera to force a period so that I could do my first round of clomid and I've now gotten a natural period after 39 days. Does this mean I could have ovulated on the first round?

Hi Ladies, Ive been prepping for my FET this cycle but the provera tablets I was taking from day 21 failed to prevent my period 😭 now I’ve come in for a scan on day 2 of my now period and the doctor has said that my hysteroscopy would have to be delayed this coming Monday.

Based on my last bleed with provera but ovulated late on letrozole. I have a scan in 2.5 weeks with the fertility clinic. And I am going to self refer to antenal clinic. I am taking folic acid and vit D. I just don’t really know what to do with myself..

I’ve always been prescribed provera or norethisterone before to schedule my bleed so have no true experience of a natural start. I’ve also had tostran and DHEA priming previously though obviously they don’t really alter how you start.

My consultant has recommended I go on Provera (10mg twice a day) until I have a hysterectomy at some point in the next year. I’d be on it permanently, so no breaks. I stupidly googled (because apparently I’m a sucker for punishment) and the « clean out » sounds terrifying. Has anyone been on it?

I'm scared to ask the hospital for provera to force a period because I have a feeling they'll say I can't continue with clomid because they were very strict in the fact this can only be used for 6 months if it is working and it seems it has only worked 1 month out of 3.

She has had ultrasounds which were inconclusive, she has been given medication (desogestrel) which was advised as the only option and meant she spent 48 days of her summer holidays on her period and bleeding (now fully off medication.and they tried to propose Provera as combine pill is not an option

I'm currently taking provera before starting our second IVF round and I've just realised I've only been taking 10mg instead of 20mg for the past 4 days. I've been told to take it for 10 days so now really worried I've messed up getting my cycle in sync and nervous they'll have to cancel the cycle.

I’m in that awful position of waiting for my period, after it didn’t start and then after taking Provera for 5 days.

Have any of you experienced that if you've been on depo provera?I think they're panic attacks: racing heart, breathing fast, shaking and almost bursting into tears.

I don’t react well to any birth control pills, or Provera to regulate my period. I’m still on my period and in a lot of pain and don’t feel like going back to the doctor because there is not much they can do.

Despite having mirena coil in situ, taking provera, tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid the bleeding controlled my life. Nothing stops it! Unable to leave the house I was lucky if got the odd week break.

I was put on 5mg Provera which made me bleed constantly. So, they upped it to 10mg to see if that did the trick. I was only on it for 14 days and took myself off it because it made me feel so low. That was the end of January.
