Welcome to the forum

Please can you add the ranges (figures in brackets after each result)

Different labs have different ranges

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Every result looks normal and vitamin levels are good

Have you had ultrasound scan of thyroid?

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Are you eating enough protein?

Thank you,

I haven’t had an ultrasound of my thyroid, no.

Vitamin D supplement is an oil based spray by BetterYou 3000iU Daily

ZMA (I don’t stick to one brand) B6 7mg, Magnesium 300mg, zinc 20mg.

Fish oils (I don’t stick to one brand) currently Green Pasture fermented cod liver oil 500mg

Plenty of protein by way of meat but occasionally supplement with a plant based protein.

Hi there,

Your Folate is very low in range. My husband was very unwell with the symptoms you describe with folate at that level. After three months worth of daily folate, he was a different person altogether.

Thank you Topsy,

I noticed this too, it was barely in range. But given that it was classed as ‘normal’ I didn’t think that it was in an extreme (like my SHBG) to cause any problems. I’ll definitely try supplementing.

Hi, Once when my levothyroxin dose was high, my blood test result was similar to your my t4 was 19 and my TSH was low and lower than your . During that time I was not my self. I lost weight, I was active, nervous, full of anxiety, lots of things were going in my mind, could not concentrate, could not sleep. Which I was close to hyperthyroidism.

Also, you need to know how you feel. These result might be normal for some people but for me not. Even I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, my first blood test, t 4 was low but not passing the range. So go with your feeling and symptoms.

One of Gp wanted put me on depression tablets but I refused . You need to be strong. You know yourself more than others.

Imagine if you got a car , as soon as it is something wrong you know. Others might drive but they don't know.

So your body belongs to you and you know better than others how works before and how you felt before. Do not limit your gp with one, talk to others. I found the easy way for GPS to put patients on depression tablets

Thank you Tala,

I haven’t had a previous diagnosis for thyroid problem or been on any medication for it. It’s been checked a few times, probably because a lot of my symptoms point to it. I think the GP’s I’ve visited run a basic test and the ‘normal’ range is so wide. I was hoping this more complete test could show it in a better light and indicate a problem or discount it, but at least I’d have the numbers and ranges to look at.

Ask to see especialist , soo you are not convinced and your not feeling well. If really you are not. You know best about your body. I said mine did not pass the range for the first time when I was diagnosed. Be strong when you talk with GPS
