I would be so grateful for any advice anyone can give me.
I’m having a breast reduction in 2wks and I am hypothyroid ( I had my thyroid removed around 17yrs ago ).
Obviously I’ve had advice regarding aftercare and supplements to take from the clinic I’m going to, but I wanted to ask if I should expect a slightly different recovery rate seeing as I’m hypothyroid.
I already take omega 3,6&9, B12, vit B complex, turmeric and chlorella.
It’s been suggested by the clinic I take magnesium, vit K, iron, vitamin C and Arnica.
Also what time of magnesium would you suggest?
TIA

Would STRONGLY recommend you get FULL Thyroid and vitamin testing privately BEFORE your surgery
presumably your TSH is always always suppressed on T3 ?
If hospital only test TSH they may refuse to operate if TSH is very low
You may need to pre-discuss results with anethestist.
You need to stop any supplements that contain biotin (e.g. Vitamin B complex) for a week before any blood tests as biotin can falsely affect test results
Are you self treating with T3? This can cause problems while staying in hospital. If you admit to it and give them your T3 they very likely unhappy to dispense it without prescription
Ok, yeh I did consider having the full thyroid and vitamins test before I go in. I will do that and order it today. I only have 2wks until surgery. I’ll stop the B Complex and hopefully a week will be enough time to get bloods back
