I take my levo at night (10.30 ish) and have recently restarted vit D and K with my evening meal (6 ish) I was planning to start taking some magnesium citrate and wondered if it’s ok to take with my evening meal as well?

WobblyX,

Magnesium is best taken at night but you need to take magnesium and vitD 4 hours away from Levothyroxine so take it with your evening meal.

Hi Clutter, I have been taking the vit D softgel, vit K and magnesium citrate together with my evening meal. About 5.30. Today about 2pm I noticed that the soft gels seemed to have passed through intact 😲 never noticed this before! (Although it could have happened!) not exactly sure if they might just be coating and the contents had got out?! Is there a chance the magnesium affected my stomachs ability to dissolve the coating? Would appreciate any thoughts on this!

WobblyX,

Sorry I've never heard of that happening and don't know why it would. If it happens again perhaps you should contact the manufacturer for advice.

Thanks Clutter, I’m taking Doctor Bests so I’ll contact them if it happens again...might have been a one-off!

WobblyX,

I've been taking them for 2-3 years and haven't noticed that happening.

Do you take magnesium at the same time?

WobblyX,

No. Why would magnesium prevent the gelatine from dissolving/melting?

I wondered if it could be that the magnesium citrate had speeded up the journey of my stomach contents so that it all moved too quickly ....although I have no symptoms of diarrhoea .....it was just that the magnesium capsule is New.....I used to use a magnesium drink ....but kept forgetting it many days so decided a capsule alongside the vit D3 and K would be more consistent.
