take thyroid support,

What is this thyroid support? What does it contain?

Serum TSH level 0.94 mU/L - normal 0.27 - 4.2

Serum free T4 level 17.4 pmol/L - normal 10.5 - 24.5

Free T3 4.4

What is the range for the Free T3 - we can then see how well you are converting T4 to T3. Your FT4 is 49% through range. When on Levo only, the aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their ranges if that is where you feel well.

So even though your TSH is nice and low, your FT4 could be higher.

Serum ferritin 48 ug/L 13 - 150

It's said that for thyroid hormone to work properly (that's our own as well as replacement hormone) ferritin needs to be at least 70, preferably half way through range.

You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, also liver pate, black pudding, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet

apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/in...

Serum 25-HO vit D3 level 83 nmol/L

Serum vitamin D2 level 5 nmol/L

So total Vit D is 88nmol/L. The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L (50ng/ml) and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L (40-60ng/ml). How much D3 are you supplementing? Are you taking D3's important cofactors - magnesium which helps the body convert Vit D into it's active form, and Vit K2-MK7 which directs the extra uptake of calcium from food and directs it towards bones and teeth where it's needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

Serum adjusted calcium conc 2.14 mmol/L - normal 2.20 - 2.60

This is below range so you should discuss this with your GP.

Is it this Thyroid Support

amazon.co.uk/Pure-Encapsula...

If so, it may not be doing you a lot of good.

It contains iodine, iodine used to be used to treat hypERthyroidism so is not recommended for us Hypos. Also, you have Hashimoto's and iodine is particularly not recommended where Hashi's is present.

The amount of iodine it contains is 150mcg and that is the RDA which in the UK is quite easily found in food - milk, yogurt, white fish, scampi, etc.

It's rare to be iodine deficient in the UK, but before supplementing with iodine we should test and only supplement if found to be deficient.

Ashwagandha can lower cortisol - something to be aware of.

free T4 level 17.4 pmol/L - normal 10.5 - 24.5- is high end .

No, it's not high end. At 49% through range it's just less than half way through range.

Put your result and ranges in this calculator that works out percentage through range

chorobytarczycy.eu/kalkulator

17.4 in the FT4 box, then 10.5 after "normal od" and 25.5 after "do" then click "Oblicz"

Yes that’s the supplement I am taking.

In that case I'd stop taking it, it won't be helping and will very likely make things worse.
