Vitamin & mineral blood tests interpretation
Hi everyone, I've had nutritional blood tests taken for the 1st time and am confused about the results. I wonder why the vitamin B results are arranged like this. Dificient >1.25 and <1.15 normal . I would have thought it would be the other way around so the highest amount would be normal and lowest

Pain management for anal fissure induced anal spasm?
I have an anal fissure and am awaiting a colonoscophy under anaesthetic. After bowel movements, whether my stools are soft or even runny, my fissure cracks open and I often go into an anal spasm. These can change in intensity and duration - but not unusual to have a 12hr spasm. I feel as if I am losing

When do you take medicine, vitamins, suppl. ? am, pm?
I've just started to switch taking my pills from morning to evening. No ms related medicine but Effexor, Vit.D, Biotin, Zinc. And I started to read about how you're supposed to take these. It's incredibly complex, some should be taken 30 min before meal, some after food because of stomach acid,... for

Hi, Apologise for the long post but wanted to include everything so as not to drip feed! Basically I’ve been losing hair for 2.5 years now following the birth and death of my second son. Initially I put it down to stress but then thyroid levels were slightly high (4.2). Have had all manner of tests and

Change of clinic, change of attitude
I’ve had a productive couple of weeks recently that I wanted to share here as this forum helped me get out of my despair. I received NHS funding for 2 cycles at an excellent clinic in London, and have had my first consultation there - love the doctor. She said one failed IVF cycle doesn’t indicate needing

New member seeking advice for underactive thyroid/hashimotos for 20yrs. Tests showing I need less thyroxine but symptoms show otherwise.
Thyroid problems run in my family. My grandma and father both had hashimotos and had their thyroids removed. I had been asking for tests on my thyroid for years as I showed signs but as I was not overweight and T4 levels 'normal' noone listened. Eventually a private doctor did TSH which was slightly

Tests were taken early am and I’m not on any

Vitamin D and testosterone co-ordinately modulate intracellular zinc levels and energy metabolism in prostate cancer cells.
"supplementation of vitamin D3 and testosterone can restrict the energy production that is required to drive PCa progression by maintaining proper zinc homeostasis and inhibiting TCA cycle activity in PCa cells." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30664926

Reverse T3 dominance
Hello. I hope someone can help. I have the following numbers: TSH 2.56miu/l (0.27-4.2) so middle Free T3 4.1pmol/L (3.1-6.8) so low end free T4 17.6 pmol/l (12-22) so middle Reverse T3 25ng/dl (10-24) so high T3/rT3 I calculated as 10.6 so VERY LOW (20 is supposed to be threshold) Iron, folate

Factors that assist T3 to enter cells
I wonder if anybody can enlighten me to the latest research / theories on which factors assist / prevent T3 to enter cells and therefore make them work. The reason I ask is that I have got my B12, folate, vit D3, and iron to the optimal levels suggested here on these forums. I have also got myself to

Newbie Hypothyroid
Hi, I had total thyroidectomy in 2017 due to multi-nodular goitre. Since then I’ve had lots of symptoms from flushing, anxiety, can’t tolerate heat, muscle pains etc. I was originally on 100 mg of Levo and I couldn’t tolerate Teva so I asked the GP to reduce to 75. For months went through combinations
