Happy New Year to you all and may it be a great one. I recently had a Dexa Scan and result is minor of Osteoporosis I guess that would be Osteopenia. Suggestion is by my GP to take Alendronic Acid, which after reading information about it raised many questions. Can i take it or there is more kinder

Nature provides B12 drops
I received these drops today (recommended by this helpful forum), which are high strength 3000 mcgs. The instructions state 12 drops per day to give you the correct dose of 3000 mcgs. Could I make sure that these are not too high for a first purchase of B12 vitamins as others seem lower in strength

How do I know if I have PA?
My issues with B12 only came to light after booking an iron infusion with Dr. Klein earlier this year. He asked me to stop taking any b vits for a month prior to my blood test. After 3 weeks of not taking B12 and other b complex supplements my health rapidly deteriorated. I became weaker by the day

An error I forgot about.
A few months back I used a multi use vial after not having used it for an unknown time. I have sense come to understand that once the vial is open one should either use it up or throw it away. I use 90 days as my maximum length of time to use a vial once it is opened or mixed. I take tape and write

carbimazole help
so the good news is that my bloods came back with lots of positives this time. My TPOAb has reduced to 57, after it was 178 in Feb. My TSH has woken up and is now in range! My vitamins are all in good order (thanks to supplements and advice from this forum). B12 has increased +200 since Feb! The only

self injecting problem
I posted before about fracturing my shoulder and couldn't self inject one handed, found out that the local pharmacist do B12 injections which solved my problem. Though I should point out I think they would adhere to the NICE recommendations of every 3 months and you obviously have to pay for it,

B12 expiry date
Hi all. I have around 20 vials of B12 and have just checked the expiry date. It is the end of this month! 🙄Is the expiry date fixed, or am I able to use them safely for a period of time after the expiry date? I assume the effectiveness of the B12 may be compromised after the expiry date? 🤔

Interesting
At least I think so. I have started to experience the pins and needles of Paresthesia. I have never experienced this symptom before. It does not worry me as it is likely the result of my healing with effective self treatment and it is reasonable to assume it will be resolved. I did make the error of

How can you get homocysteine test on NHS
I’ve had an under active thyroid for many years and now I think may be B12 deficient too. Also have high blood pressure. I’ve been doing a lot of research recently and read about the importance of homocysteine. I had it tested privately about six years ago and it was at the “high end of normal” then

Partners ALP gradually increasing.
Hi all, My partner is in the interim of moving to NHS after being diagnosed with liver disease on private . He has hemochromatosis and the disease from this. His next appointment isn't until November and his last was in February. He and myself are worried as we've noticed his ALP has risen in the last

PA and oral B12 supplements
I have recently been diagnosed with PA and I’ve had an initial booster course of 6x B12 injections with a plan for 3 monthly injections for life (based, I understand, on local UK NHS protocols, or how my GP has interpreted them). I was therefore wondering if there is any benefit in taking oral B12

Followed advice here, now need help with understanding results
Hi, I’ve learned more here in the last year or so than I’ve ever learned from doctors. I’ve also come to know that I’ve probably been on too low of a Synthroid dosage for far too long. I am hypothyroid with Hashimoto’s since 2005 or 2006. I had a goiter on my parathyroid and had surgery to remove

Treating muscle pain post zoledronic acid infusion
I had my first zoledronic acid infusion just over 24 hours ago. I was recommended to take some paracetamol before bed, which I did. I had some migraine associated visual disturbances just before I turned my light out, but slept through OK. This morning I developed a headache, so took more paracetamol

Help me find a post please. Male PA member linked a journal article about his success with an innovative depression procedure.
I thought I saved it for a loved one, but can not find it. The member had a procedure done that involved brain stimulation for depression, that still existed even with b12 supplementation. And he had an article written about how successful the procedure was for him I am on Thyroid UK as well so he
