Can B12 levels fluctuate?
Hi, Can B12 levels fluctuate? I have been having a number of B12 related symptoms, took supplements and felt better. I stopped supplements on the 18th June & had 4 months clear of fortified cereal & so on to check if I have a deficiency. I did an active finger prick test & my level on the 14 September

Megaloblastic anaemia
Hi, I was diagnosed with megaloblastic anaemia yesterday. My gp, sent over a prescription for Cyanocobalamin 1mg/1ml solution for injection ampoules. My pharmacy and other pharmacies don't stock it. I left a note for my doctor with the receptionist to ask for possibly a different brand or type. I'm new

Feeling dreadful but doc says results are fine!
Hi there, I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid back in July 2020. I was prescribed 25mg levothyroxine which was increased to 50mg after 6 months. Shortly after starting levothyroxine I started getting stiffness in my neck and shoulders along with pain in my hips and groin - the only way I can

B12 made symptoms go away
Hi. I had ME/CFS and it seemed to clear up 16 years later. About 3 years ago, I had fatigue, myclonic jerks especially while sleeping which woke me up and tremor feeling inside me. I took B12 sublingual for 2 or 3 weeks and the symptoms subsided. But then I stopped taking the B12 supplements and I have

Update after Endo
Good morning, I'm just writing this as an update to anyone who may be interested in my seemingly-odd case... My Endo appointment went well. (Or so I thought but if you're learning from this post, please read the comments!) She believes I have Graves disease, despite the antibodies indicating Hashimotos

Getting there, but slowly
More blood tests back now but still don't have all the figures. Serum immunoglobulins all normal Coeliac screen - negative Ferritin 197 (range 13-150) Transferrin saturation 38% (15-45) He's not happy about this even though it's "normal" Homocysteine - normal IFA - still negative Gastric parietal antibodies

Functional B12 deficiency
Hi, I have been around a long time and read every day. I have a hard time understanding what a functional deficiency mean. In my case just a few injections brought my MMA and homocysteine down very quickly. Is that a functional deficiency? Seems like I would understand this by now. I have never

Considering Conception & Ideal Thyroid Levels
Hi all. I finally saw an endocrinologist and they suggested increasing thyroxine dose by 20% when doing an embryo transfer to ensure adequate thyroxine. I asked about FT3 and FT4 levels but they were only interested in TSH which didn’t make sense given it only signals thyroid production and isn’t a thyroid

Methylcobalamin vs Hydroxocobalamin ?
Does anyone else find they do better on methylcobalamin than hydroxocobalamin? I've done some major googling but not been able to find out much and would like to ask if anyone has had the same experience as me? I started SI for years with Methylcobalamin and was doing great. When stocks became impossible

Pink Tribe/Vita Blossom B12 complex v Health Leads
For months I’ve been taking PT or VB but decided to try Health Leads on a recommendation but guess what(?!!), my urine has taken on that bright yellow colour and familiar odour of the types of B12 product I’d stopped taking. Does this mean it’s an inferior product and I’m just peeing it down the loo

Hi, I’m new here (or I’ve been acting like a shadow for months, reading your stories & experiences and feeling a sense of support from you all without reaching out, so firstly thank you) I have had ongoing pelvic pain since 2021. Continuously. It started as a niggle in my right ovary. I noticed it

Blood Test Results Help Please
I have just got my blood test results back. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis in 1994. My TSH is low & my T4 is low in the range. The lab refused to test my T3. My Folate is low & I feel my B12 is at the low end of the range (to feel well). My GP has just texted me re the Folate, but ignored

Optimum Ferritin Result?
What is the optimum ferritin result I should seek to achieve and how, please. My recent last result was 90mcg/L (30 - 200). I SI B12 EOD. I take a B complex (B6 10mg) and folic acid (5mg) as a separate supplement.
