Yesterday was results day.. a mixed bag
So I went back to Papworth yesterday to get my results of recent tests, have been left with mixed feelings really. CT scan showed no worsening since previous scan - air trapping and atelectasis with the obvious lung reduction from scoliosis but no evidence of bronchiectasis thankfully :) LFT's showed

The NHS, bless it despite its shortcomings, keeps me alive, and probably keeps many other 'Health Unlocked' posters alive. I'll be watching : "Keeping Britain Alive: The NHS in a Day", Season 1 Episode 1 of 8, tonight (26th March) "New series. On October 18, 2012, 100 camera crews were dispatched

balance
Has anyone been sent to see a nuerologist? My balance and co-ordination has become much worse over the last 2 yrs. I am exhausted just trying to concentrate on walking in a straight line. I also get episodes of double vision

Occlusal contact lenses
I have double vision in my left eye and need a very high grade prism in my glasses to correct this. For a while now I've been convinced that this has aided and abetted my balance problems. It seems to me that the tremor I experience with Ataxia makes my eyes involuntarily zigzag across the prism

Double and Blurred Vision
Hi Everyone, Should I be worried about double vision? My GP recently cut my dose and I felt awful. One of the many things that have returned is double vision. There is a shadow under objects and letters. I also get very blurry vision. This had improved since raising my meds from September to December

A LIGHTHEARTED APPROACH TO LOWER BACK PAIN !!
Yesterday I found some old jeans and popped them on and yes they were not quite the fit I remember ! Even with stretch in the fabric ! It wasn't long before I noticed a dull ache in my lower back and on went the magnetic belt ! Later in the day I had a yoga class and changed into my oh so comfy cropped

Another form of exercise?
Morning runners I have had a badly pulled quad since the end of January which is improving but very slowly yesterday I just moved quickly to cross a road and was in agony and I need another safe form of exercises as I've put on five pounds through not running so do you have any thoughts ? I can't

Bariatric Surgery and Medicine Dosages
There are so many reasons for people to need higher or lower doses of medicines. But I do wonder how many GPs (and they are predominantly the ones who actually prescribe) realise this issue? [i]Obes Surg. 2013 Feb 22. [Epub ahead of print]

Joint replacement or fusion
Has anyone had joint replacement or fusion? I'm wondering whether its worth it in the end? Specifically big toe fusion, and wrist and thumb joint fusion or replacement? I'd like to hear your experiences. Thanks

I look so bad
I have just stopped with a cup of tea, en-route to the sofa I could not help notice in the large mirror in my lounge that my hair looks like it belongs to some breed of monkey - it used to be long and curly and nicely highlighted - as it has deteriorated in condition over the last couple of years I have

Harder to lose weight
Whats the thinking on whether it's harder to lose weight with an autoimmune illness/underactive thyroid please? It has been my only answer to this personal problem, but when I joined Weight Watchers last week, and I suggested that's why weight came off me so slowly when trying to cut down, was told by
