Does Maxidex steroid add to Pred dose?
I had a new lens fitted on 2 April and have to use Dexamethasomex or Maxidex four times a day. Does this add to my total steroid intake with the Pred. Am on 10 mg after a flare and trying to get back to 7.5 as soon as possible. I also have a preventative asthma inhaler which is a steroid presumably

Hearing loss
Hi all, I've had tinnitus for many years. It was mild for a long long time, so it was totally bearable, and just meant I didn't hear the higher tones of birdsong or someone's voice in a particularly noisy room. But in the last couple of years it's suddenly gotten much worse. A shrill ringing in one

Ambulatory B/P monitors
Hi guys, I've just noticed that there are ambulatory monitors being advertised for sale. Wouldn't it be great if they did what they claim to do ! A bit akin to the difference between testing your blood sugar level at home, which is a snap shot of that moment and an hba1c blood test which gives an

New to Tinnitus
Hi, I'm new to Tinnitus. I have a burst ear drum and have finished a course of 7 days of antibiotics. The sound is constant and I can't sleep. I have locked myself away for a week now and haven't left home because I feel a bit scared and anxious. I know I need to try getting back to a normal day life

indapamide / Tinnitus
Hello Peeps, I recently went up from 1.25mg indapamide daily (half 2.5mg pill esch day) to 1.5mg indapamide extended release. Fairly quickly I noticed a low volume pulsating humming sound at home, particularly in the evenings that sounded a bit like there was an engine running. I even asked neighbours

I am posting this in the hope that it helps in forming your own response and if you agree with some of them, including them in your own response might help them pay more attention to them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journey to recovery
Hi everyone, I’m in my second month of recovery from IBS. Try Peppermint oil capsules (not the sweets) 30 minutes to 1 hour before your meal; 15 minutes it’s quite ok. The Holland & Barrets is highly recommended . I also take 2 glasses of water every morning before breakfast. Your mental health also

Spirulina and Chlorella
Hi, i was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis 5 years ago and I'm on methotrexate and hydroxycloroquine. I'm was hoping to start taking spirulina and chlorella as they have so many health benefits but I not sure of any drug interactions. I've tried Google but I'm getting conflicting advice, some say

Ursodeoxycholic acid
Hi, I've been on urso 2000mg daily for 8 years now, but it seems to give me diarrhoea lately. Does anyone else have this trouble, also does it mean it has stopped working? Thank you for any help.

DVLA vision test
I am past 70 so needed to apply for license renewal. I know I have glaucoma in one eye so when I filled out the form online I ticked the box for eye conditions. I’m pretty certain that one of the questions was one or both eyes, I ticked one eye only. Few week later got the dreaded DVLA letter. This surprised

Baclofen pump
Hello my dear friends, My spasticity has gotten worse in my legs. I did a baclofen pump trial about 20 years ago. Made my legs too weak. Now I have much tone, especially my right leg. I don't think much had changed. I am still ambulatory, some days use nothing, trekking pole(s) or a rolator, depending

MRI results…how long to wait?
Hi guys, hope you’re all okay. So I had my pelvic MRI scan on Monday, it was awful as I was in the scanner for an hour and 10mins 😥. I stayed strong and got through it though as I know it was important. Just wondered how long you’ve had to wait for results (with nhs). My letter said up to six weeks.
