I'm new to Tinnitus. I have a burst ear drum and have finished a course of 7 days of antibiotics. The sound is constant and I can't sleep. I have locked myself away for a week now and haven't left home because I feel a bit scared and anxious. I know I need to try getting back to a normal day life, even though sleep is a problem, but I feel nervous and tired. I've only experienced this for a week. How do you all cope?
Thanks,

locking yourself away - as I expect you know by now - isn’t going to help matters.
First,y do go to the website of Tinnitus UK. There is so much helpful information there on how you can make your life better. There’s no “cure” as such but there are plenty of ways to help yourself.
Thanks. After writing the post on the forum, I started the e-learning modules on takeontinnitus.co.uk. Knowledge is power so I'm just going to have to start at that position. I will pop out tomorrow. Thank you for responding to me. ☺️
And I've just found the local Tinnitus Support group linked to my local hospital. I think talking to people face to face who also have the condition will be helpful for me. Thanks
Ahhh thanks. I think because I'm so new to this, I feel quite isolated in my thinking. It's a lonely feeling when it first happens. 1 in 7 have Tinnitus, so the chances are some of my neighbours do. Sorry you don't have a support group local to you. Could you set one up?!? I'm based in London so densely populated.
