Inflamed ear drum the cause of pulsatile tinnitus?

So today I had a visit to my GP to see what to do about my pulsatile tinnitus in right ear (happens few times a day, for 20-30min). And when she checked my ears she saw that my sound tunnel in left ear is a bit red but my right ear drum is red and inflamed. I was give antibiotics and some ear drops to treat this.

My question is, can ear inflamation be the reason for my pulsatile tinnitus?

I don't have any pain or symptoms in my ear except occasional heartbeat (pt) which has been going on and off for 15 days almost. And I did experienced a short period of thumping way back in January but I thought nothing of it as it didn't happen again untill late March.

Btw, I'm one month post ablation currently.

As several of us have already said, this is common with AF though most of us have it permanently rather than occasionally . For what it is worth. my audiologist was most concerned and wrote to my GP regarding carotid artery ultrasound. Apparently it can be caused by partially blocked carotid arteries. Something else to worry about?

It can be triggered by infection or by nothing at all, irritating when you try to sleep but the only way you will know is if it goes away when the infection clears.

I have pulsatile tinnitus all the time. When I have afib the tinnitus goes away!
