Tinnitus and Ear Wax

HiI have had tinnitus for 6 years now still no reason why as I have no hearing loss but know it started same time as menapause so was wondering if everyone tried HRT and if it helped? It is in center of my head which I can deal with but I keep getting build of wax in my left ear so my tinnitus moves to this ear and is very loud and drives me mad so I keep having to have it syringed then it goes back to normal but it keeps happening more often. Does anyone else have this problem with wax.

Thank you

tinnitus can be caused by anything or indeed nothing.

If you have wax and it deafens you then it does need to be removed, in my view. Not all doctors surgeries do this though, I have mine done privately.

Hi

Thanks for your reply I'm lucky my surgery still does remove wax but having to go back every 8 weeks otherwise my tinnitus goes crazy and olive oil does not help just worried having it syringed all the time , bit scared to use microsuction as told its very loud and can make tinnitus worse?

People’s reactions to microsuction differ. There have been many discussions on this site about it.

Personally, I find it help tinnitus as the real world gets clearer so the phantom world of T is less obtrusive. However I only need this done once a year or so, at £80 per ear.

Every eight weeks for wax ! Well that’s the worst wax I’ve ever heard of!

Will you explain how to use oil oil?

Hello. You can buy an ear spray called Otosan, you use it everyday and it’s supposed to prevent a build up of wax and reduce the need for syringing. It’s all natural ingredients, you may want to try something like that. It gets very good reviews.

I use earol as often as needed recommended by a consultant at the hospital. It is not oil based and therefore does not clog up the ears.
