Experienced with spinal cord stimulators?
Hello all, Hoping to hear some positive experiences with scs. I’ve had chronic pain since I was 17, for about 15 years now. And now my wife and I have a 6 month old baby, and I’m just totally, totally wiped out. Was diagnosed with stress fractures in L4, had a surgery that made the pain 10x worse

Aqueous Shunt surgery recovery
Hello. I hope everyone is well. I had surgery 5 days ago to insert an Aqueous Shunt in my left eye. I would be interested to know if anyone else have had this surgery and how the recovery period has been for them. The eye has been a bit sore and has the usual foreign body scratchy feeling. Also vision

Hi everyone, Feeling a little fed up I had vulva cancer in 2010, had surgery to remove the tumour and a high dose of radiation treatment on the front but it also affected the back passage. 2018 had a hysterectomy due to long term adamyosis and when they operated, my tisses were stuck together, fallopian

Amlodipine and swollen ankles
Since taking Amlodipine for high blood pressure, my ankles and now my lower legs swell in the evening. They are back to normal by the following morning and I always spend the evening with my feet raised and exercising my ankles. I am told that this is a side effect of the Amlodipine, but does anyone

Doctors perform kidney transplant on awake patient
Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago have performed a kidney transplant on a patient who was awake the whole time. They say the technique used updated anesthesia methods which may now be used for more patients who would be considered too risky to go fully under, which is the standard

Pharmacy2U. Part 2
The above company after failing to supply me any T3 other than Teva said they would notify my surgery and get an emergency supply ordered. Why they think my surgery should sort out their failings I don’t know, I called in to my surgery earlier and was told that they have heard nothing from them, perfect

Lymph Node Irradiation for a Potential Cure
I have read that some men have been cured from earlier posts that I have read. Currently I have been on abiraterone and Lupron for 21 months. I only had one docetaxel, before catching pneumonia, so chemo was halted by my oncologist, stating the chemo would kill me before the cancer. The one chemo

Stuck at 4.5mg
Have been on 4.5 mg since last November. Saw hip surgeon in January who told me to stay on 4.5mg rather than risk a flare before my surgery for hip replacement which took place in March. After my op I was in a lot of pain (from the surgery) with a prolonged recovery so even though my GP told me to try

CA125 level 89
I’ve just had bloods back and have raised levels of ca125. Last time I had this test about 18 months ago it was 53. It is now 89. Large mass on my right ovary, previously told it was fibroids. Could it be an enlarged fibroid? I have stage 4 endometriosis too and have had laparoscopy 3 years ago. Maybe

Blood test
I know from this community how important it is to test first thing in the morning but my doctors' surgery is very stretched and my blood test appointment can't be changed from late morning. I'm not sure I can last without any food until 30 minutes after the appointment. How bad is it to eat something

Dad diagnosed with GBM grade 4
Hi, my dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma about 4 weeks ago. He has gone from being a fairly healthy 58 year old man who travels around the UK and holidays a few times a year abroad to a man who sits on the sofa refusing to go out or do anything. He has got a healthy appetite but is eating way too

Hello all - just wanted to say it's great to have found this group and it's been reassuring to read a lot of the posts here. I was told I would have to wait until October - January for my valve replacement but things have moved quickly in the past couple of weeks. I am now being admitted on Monday with

bloods! low platelets, high haemoglobin???
As usual, I am not sure where to post this: Firstly I have antibet2glycoprotein 1 antibodies which thicken the blood. I should be taking a daily aspirin but often forget mainly becasue I am not motivated to as I also have low platelets. Will have been waiting for nearly a year to see my rheumatologist
