CA125 level 89

I’ve just had bloods back and have raised levels of ca125. Last time I had this test about 18 months ago it was 53. It is now 89. Large mass on my right ovary, previously told it was fibroids. Could it be an enlarged fibroid? I have stage 4 endometriosis too and have had laparoscopy 3 years ago. Maybe time for more surgery? Has anyone had this level of ca125 and it not be cancerous?

Hello! I've read of a lot of people with levels much higher that weren't cancer. I think it's the inflammation that raises it to do with endo? How did you find out about the mass - is it via MRI?

Initially an MRI - well I had two MRIs when I was pregnant with my second child as they discovered a mass on my right ovary during pregnancy scans. But that was over 2 years ago and after a c-section, consultant confirmed it was a fibroid. But I can feel it, it has grown over the last two years and is bulging out of my right side. Dr did a physical examination yesterday and could feel it too.

Hi my CA125 levels were 65.3 last time the were checked and I have stage 4 endo and also suspected adeno they ruled out Cancer due to no otger cancer symptoms and said it was quite common for endo to change the results of the CA125 markers due ti inflammation being present - hope this helps

Hi I also have high CA125 levels, mine are 117 at present. I was fast tracked to a gyno cancer clinic a few months ago due to my original ultrasound they commented that my endometriomas were 'possibly endometriomas not 100%' since I've had an MRI and been transferred over to endo specialist. I was advised that the presence of the endomtriomas and spread of the endo affected areas are likely the cause of the high level. If you are concerned by the mass I would definitely raise this again so that you can have some clarity.

Hi,

I had a result of 163 when I had the CA125 blood test. They fast tracked me as well down the cancer pathway. Once I saw an endo consultant, they said it could be an endometrioma cyst causing the high levels. I had an MRI which confirmed it was Endo not cancer.

When I researched it initially, Dr Google told me I definitely had cancer and I was convinced of it as well. But in my case, it wasn’t.

Best of luck and hopefully some positive results soon! xx
