Hoping to hear some positive experiences with scs. I’ve had chronic pain since I was 17, for about 15 years now. And now my wife and I have a 6 month old baby, and I’m just totally, totally wiped out.
Was diagnosed with stress fractures in L4, had a surgery that made the pain 10x worse, and I’ve just been trying to get at least a little bit better. It’s very tough. I keep hoping I can improve my situation through pain medicine, exercises, physical therapy, mindfulness, meditation, leeches, yoga etc with no lasting improvement. I think this is about the last option I have, as far as the pain doctors tell me.
So if anyone has any helpful advice, I’d be all ears. Thanks 🙏

I have an SCS and it works really well for stenosis pain. I have problems though with bulging discs and degenerative disc disease that the SCS is not helping me with. The SCS stimulates the nerves to stop the pain from reaching the brain. So the SCS does stop a disc bulge pain since it has nothing to do with the nerves. Also, the battery has a good charge for about a week to 2 weeks. I charge myself when I can. The pack is in the haunch of the buttocks and can be felt. At least mine can. If I hurt bad, I turn it to “feel” which internally vibrates, and if not, I keep it on “No feel.” I have a remote and went through Boston Scientific. Good luck!
Hi. About 27 years ago I had an skydiving accident and compressed lumbar vertebrae L1 to L4 getting L2 broken.Last year, as a resulto of vertebrae compression and fracture, I started having extremely strong pain in my left leg and was subjected to a percutaneous radiofrequency rootectomy in which nerve roots coming out from the vertebrae are burnt to reduce sensitivity and it worked great.
It is an ambulatory procedureso you leave the hospital same day.
Procedure effect last about 2 years only but I highly recommend it. Ask your doctor about it. Maybe it would work for you too .
