health anxiety I need to chat
I have suffered with anxiety disorder all my life. My health anxiety surface 9 years ago. I had it under control the last few years. Until recently I had kidney stone surgery and was laid off my job after working for 16 years. Now I’m hypervigant of everything in my body. I get sick a lot. ( ear infections

Levo - am I worrying too much?
First, best wishes to all for Christmas and the New Year. I have been on Levo 100 for seven or so months now - the Accord brand. I got my new order by post about ten days ago and stupidly didn't open the parcel until Christmas day, when I needed to! They sent me Teva, so I have missed two days so far

Nearly 14 years on - time has flown.
On Friday 16th April 2010 I joined the Pernicious Anaemia Society and posted the following: “I was diagnosed with PA back in 1972 consequent upon having had surgery for a peptic ulcer in April 1959 at the tender age of 17. In those days I was not many years from having to be put on a diet of raw liver

Diagnosed with all the arrhythmias and a 40% ejection fraction and I'm a little confused about what's to come...
Hi, So (I'll try and keep a long story short) 8 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had chemo, radiotherapy and surgery. 3 years ago I gave birth to my son and (in lock down) I'd walk for miles and miles with him in a sling. Around 2 years ago, while pregnant with my daughter, I got tired

Season Greetings
Happy Christmas Everyone. It's 3 months today since my bypass. I'm still on a slow road to recovery, wondering when I will feel normal! I have more pain in my sternum now than ever and I have just been referred to the breast clinic as I have swelling and a bump on the left boob! My GP says it could be

Is nmCRPC potentially curable?
I would appreciate any input on this. I searched the internet and found this article from Fred Saad: Treatment of nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: focus on second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors https://www.nature.com/articles/s41391-020-00310-3 I couldn't find anything

Seasons Greetings from MichaelJH
A few of you will have noticed that I have not been active for a while. Three medical issues have dominated my life\: i) Macerated wounds on my right (only) foot. After a change of protocol those on the leg and heel healed whilst those around the forefoot and toes improved. Unfortuneately a few weeks

First laparoscopy!!!!
Hiii, I’ve got my first laparoscopy on the 9th January and I’m really nervous!!! It’s to diagnose whether I have endometriosis or not. I have a few questions and hoping people can help me 😊 1. what should I bring to the hospital with me? 2. what should I have at home after? 3. do you have to remove

Anniversary of varices bleed
Up until 23rd December 2022 I thought I was quite well and healthy and rarely needed to visit our GP. Out of the blue on the 23rd December 2022, I started to vomit up approx. 3 - 4 pints of blood, as you can imagine my wife and I were in shock from the whole episode. Following an emergency admission

Don't want to go back on the pill/more surgeries! Deep infiltrating endo on bowel and uterine polyp removed recently for heavy bleeding.
Hello fellow endo warriors. I have a dilemma. I really don't want to go back on the bcp after being on it for 15 years as it has not been effective for my deep infiltrating endo on my bowel. My ultimate goal is to heal endo at the core using non-hormonal & surgery approach. Not just a bandaid solution

Has anyone here discovered they have endometriosis/and or adenomyosis at a later stage in life? Just found out at 50!
Right now I am sad and very angry. I have been under my local gynae and gastroenterology departments for over 20 years. That’s 20+ years of endless gastro tests for my ongoing digestive issues (I’ve had 2 colonoscopies, 2 gastroscopes, blood tests, fit tests, a scan for bile acid malabsorption). During

Interesting visit with Rheumy - fat not edema!
I had a very interesting visit at the Rheumy e few days ago. We discussed MtX that I have started, and I have very good effect now after 4½ month, so he will increase from 20 mg to 25, and start decreasing prednisolone. I am on 12,5 mg now so down to 10 mg, and then very slowly 1,25 mg every 6 weeks.

Failed Endometrial Ablation: Prostap
Hi folks, Here goes, I had an ablation done but I’ve never had endometriosis - long story - it’s failed and I’m due to have the Prostap injection. I’m worried about weight gain a developing hashimoto’s, I’m paralysed and osteoporosis is also a worry. I’m very high risk for hysterectomy surgery, so

Does The Thyroid Affect Potassium Levels?
Hi! A bit of a random question but I’ve recently had some bloods taken by my GP surgery and my potassium levels have come back a little low (3.2 range 3.5-5.3) My TSH is 3.06 (range 0.27-4.20), which I think is a little too high although in range, so it got me thinking if there is a link at all between
