Embarrassed to ask…
Hello all! I’ve posted a couple times since my lap, but now have another question I feel someone on here can help me with😊 I had major surgery in May of this year. I just now started pelvic floor PT, and will be attending each week for the next month(probably will end up going longer afterwards)

low BMI and surgery
Hi, has anyone been refused surgery due to a low BMI? I know my bmi is only around 14 which is very low but I am at this weight due to my bowel issues and the constant pain I am in. My surgeon knows my weight and just warned me of the added risks but is happy to go ahead. I have had many surgeries

Best Way to Post a Follow-Up or Update ?
Just wondering how best to post an update concerning my father's experience with episodes of psychosis after emergency surgery for a broken ankle? I don't know if people will more likely read it if I make a new post OR under the comments. My original post was 2 months ago. Thank you!

swelling around DBS battery 5 weeks after surgery
It’s been 5 weeks since my battery placement surgery and when I woke up this morning my battery site is puffy. The incision has healed and looks fine. No redness or fever either. I’m not sure what caused this. I called my surgeon and sent pictures and they are going to see me Monday morning. But they

ANOTHER UTI. ON A DIFFERENT ANTIBIOTIC: SICK DAY RULES?
Hi all. Feeling very sore and emotional. Neck, shoulders backs of arms. Should I have upped the Pred again per the SDR? Getting a lot of UTIs it seems. Isn't there something we mention in the forum that helps prevent these? Just got off the Sick Days post surgery. On quite strong antibiotic and it's

Elbow pain ongoing
Hi there everyone, update on my elbow(s), well the 8 month target came and went for my left elbow replacement. It was discovered the component could have become loose in the right operated elbow. Had a CT scan and there could possibly be an infection but no antibiotics and can't go back on RA meds either

After surgery
It has been a rocky year.My AN was 5cm+ so my only choice was operation. It should have happened last December but it was postponed because I tested positive for covid. January this year(23) my symptoms worsened and MRI showed fluid on the brain so had a shunt fitted in February. The scan showed an

feeling invisible
I’m not young, I’m older. I compare myself to others my age. So active. Don’t get sciatica and fatigue after walking 1000 steps like I do. My son in law said I’m not productive. But I am happy with the little quiet niche I carved out for myself. I survived stage 3 cancer- surgery, chemo, radiation,

Back and flank aches. AAA
Hi folks, Just wondering how many of you, who have or have had abdominal aortic aneuryms, ever experienced back and side pain. I've had a dull ache for 3 months now and I'm wondering if it's related to my aneurysm getting bigger, and pressing on other organs, particularly my right kidney area.

The dreaded covid
Hi Having recently come home from a holiday, both my husband and I have tested positive for covid. He’s never had it so he’s been quite poorly, I’m the one on watch and wait with CLL, I’m feeling not as rough but I’ve had it a year ago, and have had all the vaccinations offered me and so has hubby.

Post-Circumcision
Hi, I have had my circumcision surgery on the 14th of August. Thank God it was a quick and successful recovery. Yesterday i tried masterbating for the first time but did not ejaculate, I had a little bit of pain while masterbating. Do i have to wait a little longer to masterbate again?

A tooth with a life of it's own!
Hi, all. I wrote in several months ago about a painful tooth. My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with it. He finally referred me to an endodontist, and he did a root canal. Found several issues. Would have been nice if that had been the end of it, but no! The pain would not go away, and I

so many questions
hi all, I posted about 6 weeks ago regarding my mum who’s ca125 was raised and from that they found a large growth. She had her surgery today for total abdominal hysterectomy and they removed a tumour the size of a melon. The cancer nurse specialist has already been round and confirmed it is cancerous
