Letter to nowhere
In June, after learning that the commissioner of the FDA has the authority to exempt a medication from prescription-dispensing requirements, I wrote a letter to the FDA asking for injectable B12 to be made available without a prescription. Last week I got a (mildly disappointing) response that reads

Urinary Retention
Has anyone had
urinary
retention
a while after taking Co codamol? This lasts until the next which makes my weight go higher. I also take diuretics, amitriptyline 20mg, gabapentin 30mg and Levothyroxine but this only happens when I take the Co codamol and is very unpleasant.

Violent neck tic? Advice?
My name is Alice, I am nineteen years old, and was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. For the past month or two I have had this 'head banging' tic that has only gotten worse. I wear a neck brace to try to save my neck, but I don't know if it is really doing much. It hurts to move my neck at all. I called

Just checking in ..
Evening all! It's been a muggy and humid few days here in Wales. Finally finished work on Friday for six weeks which is a little bit lovely. Mum not doing too badly, for those of you would want to know. Not really much better, but no worse either really. We're off on holiday on Tuesday; a week in Kos

I'm really worried about going

Has anyone heard of or used 'MycoPhyto' for Hashimoto's?
I've been reading about it online but there is very little information - its described as ''a blend of mushrooms that balances your immune system and calms overactive cells. This product can be used for any type of immune system disorder''. I'm wondering if it would help with the autoimmune condition

Is it worth it?
I am 28, and have been going through what I think is depression and bouts with OCD for the entirety of my 20's. I have no social life, no career (although I do have a job), and no partner. In fact, I've never had a girlfriend, or been able to talk to women of my age. In some ways, I've always felt mentally

No relief whatsoever from my symptoms - feeling I have "hit a dead end". What on earth can I do now?
During the last 2 surgeries, I had ureteral stents (and ended up in bladder
urinary
retention
), I also had a bowel prep. However, I was never really told fully what they expected to do. And afterwards, I've never really been sure what's been done. Nobody has ever told me what stage of Endo I have.

I have been advised to go for a 'retrograde urethrogram' examination for urine retention in the bladder. Pls. advise, if anybody knows.
Is it very painful? It is not done at any diagnostic centres. Is it really necessary, which are the hospitals at Borivali in Mumbai doing this? Kind advise please. Why urine retention in elderly people?

Life is a Rollercoaster
I am so fed up & just worn right down with this mind of mine that never stops thinking, reminiscing, comparing, remembering .... feeling angry, sad, bitter, hurt, disappointed ... but then feeling guilty as I have no physical ailments so I am able to get out & about if I want to but then my mind has

I had a ultrasound this morning to check gall bladder, kidneys, urinary tract and pelvic area. The doc has rung a few hours later
For permission to book an urgent MRI. He said something about the blood vessel to the liver. Do any of you have any info as I am now very worried.

My fangs need filing again, hypo thyroidism and hand washing five tons of bed linen don't go together!
'He' has been making lots of really helpful suggestions about how I could run the house without doing so many things when tired. This has come about as I needed to by an essential item. One solution, we could, or rather I could do less washing and we could all wear less clothes. Although this does

Some of you will know my previous posts under the name LeslieDilks. I have been going through a difficult personnel time, whilst also having doubts and uncertainties about myself. I therefore took myself off the Headway forum. Why?? I don't know Anyway! I've joined again as HannahS...change of name

Who can you turn to
Just been re-reading HEADWAY literature again before showing my GP (see my Post about GP support) and it has brought back the problems I had and how I was treat by The Community This has brought on a bout of depression / anxiety as I am imaging that I suffered from everything listed as I cannot remember
