Hi there I have an 8 year old daughter who was recently diagnosed with ADHD and Tourette's syndrome. We have had no support through the NHS and I am trying to access some help outside the home, we live in suffolk, does anyone know of some support groups please?

Hi, I run the west midlands Tourettes Action support group which is based in Birmingham and just outside Coventry. There are a number of other groups dotted around the country. Julie Collier would be the woman to ask. Hopefully she'll spot this and reply.

Hi my son has tourettes plus. We live on norfolk suffolk boarder. I know there is a group 21 June in Diss. Its a drumming workshop so a start up group intended to launch a suffolk group (I know it's in Norfolk) I believe there is also a esaex group depending upon where you live and what may be easier for you. I'd you look on the Tourettes action site there is loads of great info including where groups are. There is also a forum that is useful xxx

Hi there, although I can't help you I'm afraid , my son is also 8 and just been diagnosed with Tourette's and possible ASD , I've just been advised to fill out a DVLA claim for the Tourette's, not feeling very positive I will receive any financial help but wondered how you are coping? It's heart breaking I know, my son is taking the drug called clonidine and I'm hoping it helps, he's on his highest amount allowed now before changing to another drug. Xxxx

Ps we live in Dorset and would welcome any help if there is any local groups?

Hi, I'm korie, and I'm a 15 year old girl. I've had anxiety, and selective mutism since I was four and tics since I was five. I was finally diagnosed with Tourette's at 11, depression and OCD at 12, and very recently, ADHD. I've outgrown selective mutism but all of my other "problems" Are still here. I have the same problem as you, I can't find any support groups! I actually only live about 2-3 hours away from Suffolk. But one thing that's helped with ADHD and Tourette's is going gluten free. Maybe something to consider for your daughter!

I'm also taking a new blood pressure medicine and that seems to be helping a bit.

Hi KerryLou4,

I realise this post was a long time ago but I wondered if any Suffolk support groups were ever set up? I was hoping there was a support group for young people in the Ipswich area.

Thank you
