Just got prescribed Edoxoban 30mg
I am just curious if anyone else takes this medication. My last visit to the Cardiologist this past week, resulted in him informing me that due to my age, it was time to start taking an anti-coagulant. I had been taking Aspirin for twelve years. He told me to make sure to wean off the Asprin for four

CAD at 47 - Shock
Just a bit of background. Was suffering from anxiety attacks and heart palpitations last Sep. Was referred to a cardiologist (privately). Did the usual tests (holt ecg / Echo / CTCA). Whilst the ecg and echo came back with no issues, unfortunately CTCA showed moderate( 50%) stenosis in mid-LAD. Calcium

New Job, stressed regarding previous health
Hi all, just looking for some information to put my mind at ease as no amount of googling can give me the answer I need. I had a Stent put in December 2012 and another December 2022, I was made redundant December 2023 and I have just secured further employment. My concern is surrounding the health questionnaire

A line of reasoning?
morning gang.As my disease progresses I seem to have more allergy symptoms (itchy nose, roof of mouth, eyes etc). I looked this up in conjunction with Parkinson’s. Apparently people who get hay fever are more likely to get PD than those who don’t. They both stem from brain inflammation. So I thought

Exercise with mitral regurgitation
Posting for my husband in his words as he doesn't do 'tech'.I am 66 , after two strokes I now have mitral valve regurgitation and a dilated left aorta. My consultant just gives me a list of results, no interpretation or discussion and treatment is to continue the medication, along with the healthy

Finally getting around to sharing my experiences of starting Pegasys. First a little background. Aspirin and ET
Hi. I have E T and I’ve been on hydroxy and aspirin for 4 years. Saw the haematologist last week. She said that my spleen was a little enlarged but nothing to worry about. I questioned the aspirin that might giving me problems and wondered why I couldn’t take apixaban instead . She said that it didn

Worries about side effects of hydroxycarbamide - hair loss in particular
I was diagnosed with ET last July aged 66. I also have type 1 diabetes though this is well controlled. My consultant recommended I start taking hydroxycarbamide but I have resisted so far as I'm concerned about the side effects (particularly hair loss!), though I take daily aspirin as prescribed. I

Enteric-coated Aspirin, anyone?
My GP changed my prescription from dispersible to Enteric-coated Gastro-resistant Aspirin to try to deal with morning queasiness, but there's no instructions from him or the dispensing pharmacy on the best time to take these. As they are absorbed differently, has anyone got any experiences, e.g. before

Unsure of treatment
My first post. I was told that I had an MPN 6-7 years ago and that I had too many platelets. My haematologist has never given me any details about my disorder and I have just presumed it was ET . I was put on aspirin which eventually gave severe stomach problems. I have now been told to start hydroxyurea

Help!! Severe aortic valve regurgitation
Hi there, I am a 53 year old lady with severe aortic valve regurgitation. I had decided to have the resilia tissue valve as I did not want to be on long term medication/blood thinners and I bruise very easily and am rather accident prone. When I saw the surgeon he said I would need to take aspirin
