Taking Plavix (generic clopidogrel) for PV
I have tried Hydroxyurea and Anagrelide but both of them were intolerable for me. I was getting ready to go on Jakafi (very expensive as others have pointed out). My HCT seems to be under control with an occasional phlebotomy but platelets are still very, very high. At my last Hematology appointment

Trying to cope after HA
Hi all - new here Had a HA last week (at a young age of 37!) here with 2 stents and a balloon angioplasty on my LAD. Apparently due to my age and lack of apparent risk factors, ,my case was pretty unusual and discussed within the cardio team. Having never been in hospital as an adult (nor even blue-lighted

Does anyone out there have this specific diagnosis. I was diagnosed with it in 2018 and was told it was rare. I am on hydroxyurea and aspirin and that is controlling my platelets but not new symptoms I have developed.

DE Embryo FET - 2nd failed :(
Just looking for a bit of solidarity and advice. Our 1st DE embryo transfer ended in a MMC in October discovered at our viability scan. It was a 5AA embryo which stopped growing around 5.5 weeks. It was utterly devastating. We have just had a BFN from our 2nd DE embryo transfer. It was a 4AB embryo

Palpitations and Magnesium
I've read that magnesium can help with palpitations. Has anyone already on heart meds (I'm on atorvastatin, aspirin, ramipril and amlodipine) tried taking it for that purpose? I've suffered from them for many years, starting long before my HA but they have gotten a lot worse recently. I'd like to do

Update
HI my friends! I have now seen my MPN specialist twice. I was back to see him in Nashville on November 29. My diagnosis has changed from ET to PV which is what I kept thinking (since April)! My HCT was at 47.5, so I had my first phlebotomy of 500MLs. Yahoo! I had been begging my previous Dr to do this

Scared again
I was diagnosed with CHD in 2017 and had one stent put in LAD. I had been experiencing very mild exertion chest pain. Since then I have had not pain, that is until very recently. On walking uphill, I get very mild pain which I have only just had the courage to confirm as angina by using my GTN, which

Do I start Interferon?
Hi everyone I have always been under a certain amount of pressure to start meds for ET cMPL but have resisted up to now. I have had two high platelet counts in the last three years and my average count over the three years not including the spikes has been 590, I actually swing between 530 and 650.

Exercise post HA (four years ago)
As above, I had a mild HA some years ago. Over the last few months I've lost a lot of weight (purposefully) and am a healthy BMI for the first time in decades. Surgery update
Just to let all the kind folk who commented on / gave advice on my colon surgery. The operation went ahead as planned and according to the surgical team had no complications arising either from my PV or otherwise, the tumour was successfully removed along with a number of lymph nodes. I was discharged
